So I'm drunk but it seems like a pretty basic idea during the age of tinder/bumble/ect
Like let me swipe on some dudes to to help find fellow bros who want to go to bars, play pick up sports, or whatever.
Left swipe if you play Pokemon go

Tinder is sorta doing this with its new "Tinder Social" feature.

Not sure if it will catch on though because the app is still heavily associated with dating.
-
Because that's sad
-
I will also say there's this odd and somewhat unspoken stigma when it comes to making new friends as an adult. :doge
-
And speaking from personal experience, if I do end up making new friends it's usually because they are mutual friends of another friend that I have known for sometime.
So... I feel like the success of a "Find a Friend App" would have to heavily depend upon a pre-existing network of mutual friends.

Altra make me an app

Do you happen to have an extra $40K laying around? :doge

The hell are you talking about?
-
I dunno.
I'm socially autistic in most contexts. :doge
edit: I'm actually surprised I still have IRL friends. :doge
I guess I mean there's a stigma when it comes to just asking some stranger to be your friend out of the blue.
-
Isn't that Pokémon GO ?
-
Kinda, but an app for people that choose not to play Pokemon go.

It could catch on as the new grindr. :doge

You dolt. :doge That's not something you do ever.

Explains it.

This seems like a good idea, but I have a feeling that if one were made, dudes would try to use it as a dating app and ruin everything.
-
Like I know PD may use to to scope out some white dick
But other may use it appropriately

I know that Arvie and I both have challenges with anxiety n shit which is a hurdle people like us have to face when trying to meet new people.

I heard of stories where girls use Tinder just to find friends. So maybe get on Grinder and look for some friends there?
-
Just go to some Meetup.com events. Like half of the people I hang out with nowadays are from a local arcade/pinball Meetup I go to.
-
Yeah thanks but not trying to hang with a bunch of nerds

"Don't hit on me, you silly Gay Men!"
-
I heard you're looking for friends, well here we are.
-
I believe a lot of apps tried it but it seems like none really took off?
Otherwise I think Facebook groups are used for this, mostly of the 'new to town xyz' type.
