Title: Lucky better not nix this fucking trade! (Baseball thread)

Goddamnit. I mean if he kills this trade we are pretty much assured of an early exit in the playoffs. I'm all tingly.

Quite the prospect haul for Miller.

Now the Rangers are close for lucroy and I have a feeling I'm  not going to like what they're about to give up.

I actually don't blame Lecroy for asking for the second year to be a player option. What did he have to lose? And good on the Indians for saying "nah we're good"

Nothing wrong with it, that's why these clauses exist.

Could you imagine of the NFL had an 8 team no trade clause;

Cleveland
Buffalo
Detroit
Jacksonville
Tampa Bay
Cincinnati
Arizona

And

Minnesota

Are fucked.

Lucroy and Jeffries for Brinson and LuLu. That line up is gonna be sick, but they're absolutely in win now mode. That farm system is barren now.

Rangers got Beltran, too

Not sure wtf the Braves were doing hanging onto relievers we're not gonna need to win games, tho

They held on to Gallo and Mazara so I dunno if I'd call it barren.

"The Chicago Cubs have fired a DJ who played a song with references to violence after reliever Aroldis Chapman left the mound against the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday.
The DJ was fired for playing "Smack My B---- Up" by The Prodigy.
Chapman served a 29-game suspension to begin the season under Major League Baseball's new domestic violence policy. "

Welp, Braves offloaded Erick Aybar and called up Dansby Swanson. The future starts tomorrow.

Stanton can't play a season without getting hurt.

Oh well, will be fun to see Bonds batting in September.

I bet he'd put down a .280 7 30 line. Don't even laugh.

2000's Bonds was the best hitter I've ever seen so I wouldn't doubt it.

I know the Rangers and the Blue Jays aren't the most nationally watched teams, but Noon start times are wack. People got jobs.

The Giants are gonna bullshit themselves to another World Series, aren't they?

Blue Jays-Rangers rematch is awesome. I wonder how long it takes Bautista to get drilled.

Yes, I want to die.

I kinda hope that the Indians win because the one Cleveland sports fan I know in real life is an awful human whose life is disintegrating so there's no way for him to enjoy two of his pro sports teams actually being good. That's the most Cleveland thing possible.

Thoughts on Detroit bringing back Ausmus?

Probably going to matter less than them getting another really good starter and maybe reliever. I feel like there's a baseline threshold for competency in managing a baseball team, and once you've met that, it's hard to make too much of a difference unless you're Buck Showalter, ignoring for a moment this year's WC game.

Yeah that might've been a bit far.

Also, even year Giants kicking in.
