anybody know whatsup?
think my wifes laptop has finally passed which means I might get a chance to buy a new family laptop

They're announcing the Mobile lineup of Pascal chips at Gamescom.
ASUS supposedly has a laptop with a 1080M (or whatever it will be called) they'll show that they announced like six months ago even though they didn't have anything close to final hardware.
EDIT: I think NVIDIA flipped the Mobile and the later tier Desktops schedule somewhat to get more 1070 and 1060's out sooner. May have ran into a yield crunch too.

Thanks, I'm so pissed since its the W10 update that broke the laptop as the GPU is unsuported now.
Fucking Microsoft what a shit company
-
Can't you use the GPU manufacturer's drivers, or is that a no-no with mobile GPUs?
-
Well I tried an older driver and now I cant even boot it into windows anymore, and I cant activate safe mode from boot up in W10 it seems
This is with Nvidia drivers btw

I saw yesterday that Asus announced Surface Pro-level tablets (they even have the same kickstand) with better specs and configurations, plus a thunderbolt port for connection to a enclosure that you can put desktop graphics cards into. This was months ago and there hasn't been anything new on them since. :-\

So apparently the mobile cards will be just clocked down desktop cards? Cray cray if true.
