Set directly after the events of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, Survive sees the members of Militaires Sans Frontières not killed in that game’s finale transported through wormholes into an alternate universe, where they’re forced to battle a force of crystalline zombies and, it seems, at least one Metal Gear itself.
“Metal Gear Survive will offer a fresh take on the series’ famed stealth elements,” said Konami European president, Tomotada Tashiro in a press release, “but within a unique co-op setting that is designed for a truly engrossing multiplayer experience.”
Man I've not been down with MGS since like 2 and still think this is fucking awful.
Co-Op Zombie shooter MGS :zzz
Is it really that easy to up-port MGS3 (or older) in the Fox Engine though ? Is it worth it for a cow that may be dry considering how many times they re-released those games recently ? Like Final Fantasy 7 I'd expect Konami to keep that card for way later.
I guess the silver lining is that Konami is not 100% out (bar PES) of the home videogame business.
I'm always skeptical of those "easy money opportunities" touted by fans, to be honest but I may be wrong. I suspect the rationale for companies might also be that too much rehashing is not good long term and cannot take priority over fresh new stuff. A last thing is that there's often licensing issues on old stuff but considering they made a pachinko game recently with MGS3 material it probably doesn't have a place here.
I'm sure you'll get your wish at some point.

Look how successful the HD port was on PS360. Look at how crazy fans got when the CGI MGS3 scenes were revealed to be Pachinko.
MGS3 remake would be easy money for Konami if they were already spending money on the CGI cutscenes. Make the models in Fox Engine look as good as that and half the work is already done (the scenes) you just then need to make the backgrounds/maps look at good as that.
A full HD remake after those leaked Pachinko cutscenes wouldn't make money, IMO? :gurl :comeon

"Metal Gear Survive" actually refers to the business model Konami plans to use to get more money.

Blue Point porting MGS2-3 to PC (hell, MGS1-2 already had PC ports, they just need to fix those) would be easy money. Them putting that money into making the CGI would EASILY make them bank. Fans want a remake more than anything new for the series. So, yes, it would make their effort and money back ten-fold.
And unlike FF7, Konami has no pot to piss in in regards to "fans." They're bleeding them faster than anything because they went after Pachinko and that backfired while telling the last few remaining western fans of their brand to fuck off.
A full HD remake after those leaked Pachinko cutscenes wouldn't make money, IMO? :gurl :comeonI mean would it? MGS3 is probably the least popular and played one out of the series. People also tend to want new things over old things and it's really random to have the it just be the third game.
why would you want a remake of mgs3 when the hd version looks and plays just fine? and why would you assume that a game with a ton of assets and detailed cutscenes like mgs3 would be cheap to remake? are you simpleWell for one I'd like it to play like MGS5 kind of. I kind of liked the crouch walking in the 3DS version and going forward I wanted all MGS games to have that.
