Nice. I got decently far in lost Odyssey but put it down and never came back to it. I've forgotten everything at this point so it will be like a new rpg.
I do remember it was kinda tough though.

Didn't the exp from monsters drop down to almost nothing in an area once you reached a certain level? Seems like that's what it was.

Yeah but there was an enemy on disc 2 that made it easy to max out your skills which made everything but the secret boss trivial.
