Ah, from the makers of Love Plus.  Explains a lot.

Continued support to the decline of birthrates over there. :doge

And you know, watching that video, it quickly went from "man, that is LOL-creepy" to "man, that is just plain creepy."  The dude texting it and getting responses back was just plain sad.  Sadder still was him lying in his bed remarking that it was nice to have someone to come to.  OK, bruh.  If you can't get a girl...there's plenty of pets waiting to be adopted.   :-\

Can't wait for the anime version of this with the average college student or salary man's struggle to gain recognition for his virtual waifu, among his harem of friends who happen to all be women (but he can't get a date).

Salaryman? We all know anime doesn't have protagonists who are out of high school.

But you know what? I'd watch it.

Is there any movement to change the live to work lifestyle in Japan in light of impending death of the Japanese race and country in a few hundred years? Why do they continue to make such creepy shit and wallow in this culture where work takes precedence over fucking? As butt said why do they keep running away from their problem?

Those projections are a joke, come on... They assume that present conditions stay the same for hundreds of years. Yes, fewer people have children, but that doesn't mean the dicline is eternal. People aren't going to stop fucking and having children because waifu pillows and VR porn exists.

Oscar, where are you when we need you most? :stahp

Education, traditional gender roles chaning, overall wealth (and the fear of losing it), urbanization (as the first article states), etc. play a much bigger role. Government policies play a role too. Most industrialized nations are in the same boat, only most can fall back immigration to fend off population decline. Read up on this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sub-replacement_fertility

Quote
In the Hokuriku/Shin’estu region, the population will drop from about 7.6 million to 5.9 million, again by 2040. Niigata and Ishikawa prefectures will be hardest hit. The former will see its population decline from about 2.3 million to 1.79 million, and is predicted to lose 40 percent of its women aged 20 to 40. Fukui’s population will decline from about 806,000 to 633,000, meaning fewer locals to assist in maintaining the prefectures’ 13 nuclear power plants.

Oh shit, Ishikawa is where my wife is from.  Hey, if the government wants to pay for me to relocate there and make babies, I'd be all for it.  Foreigners solving the population crisis.  :doge
