Yup, it's another 8-bit style game.  Looks nice though!  Comes out 1/30/2017.

The next entry in the side-scrolling action game series Double Dragon is finally here!
The story picks up after the elimination of the Shadow Warriors in Double Dragon II!

They're pulling a Street Fighter IV here with the plot.   :)

Arc's good, probably be good.  I mean I would've rather had a Contra-ish gorgeous HD 2d version, but it is what it is.

Actually they should use the Xrd cell-shading routine and do a 2.5d beat em up.

Renegade wasn't bad considering its vintage. Not as good as DD1 or 2 of course. Turtles 2 and 3 weren't too bad if you can get over the flicker. Mad City (Japanese version of Bayou Billy) is better than the American just because the difficulty level isn't ridiculous. But NES didn't really have much in the way of quality beat em ups, that was really the Genesis, SNES and Neo Geo's (rival) turf.

Best beat em ups come out in the 16 bit era, it is known.

Steets of Rage :rejoice

Definitely.  Also most of the best beat-em-ups were arcade games.

Mighty Final Fight was also pretty cool.

The title is developed by Arc System Works and former Technos staff such as producer Takaomi Kaneko, director Yoshihisa Kishimoto, character designer Koji Ogata, composer Kazunaka Yamane, and programmer Kei Oyama .

The apex of the sidescrolling BEU was Capcom's licensed 90s coin op titles. Namely Alien vs. Predator and The Punisher. I cant get too hyped on a reboot of DD with crappy little sprites, especially if it's from Arc! I was hoping for massive new sprites like in Hard Corps: Uprising

I would mark out so hard if they had an enemy named "Bimmy" who looked like Billy, but with a "derp" face.

Got it on PC and PS4.

The PC version does not have any screen-tearing.  Best version by default?  Hard to say- it won't run on my desktop, lol.  I just get a multi-colored window.  I tried it on my GPD WIN and it ran well.  V-sync definitely on.  Seemed ever so slightly slower than PS4, but that may be just the speed on the WIN.

The game seems a bit too easy.  I got to the last level before getting a game over.  Most levels are short and super easy.  I wasn't getting hit on some them.  But then some of the later ones just destroy you.

There's two options for music.  One is more synth-like and arranged, and the other is straight 8-bit.  The sounds are all 8-bit too, but there's not enough of them.  It's weird how doors opening and elevators moving are silent.

I think it's good for seven bucks, but Double Dragon Advance this is NOT.
