What are your thoughts on the fanny pack revival? They don't look as bad as they did in the 90's because they're not in awful neon colors so it's hard to hate.

I have yet to see one in the wild.

I mean if Michael Kors is selling them at an inflated price I suppose it legitimizes them.

They make sense with the increasing size of cell phones and decreasing size of jeans. I already wear one running and at the gym.  They’d probably be one of those things I’m comfortable wearing overseas but not in the States until our backwards society is ready for it—like capris.

When I was in college I saw a (white) woman wearing a fanny pack while I was waiting in line for food at the student union.  I was so surprised that I actually blurted out something to the effect of "Is she wearing a fanny pack?" loud enough for her to hear.  We both laughed about it, but she was clearly embarrassed and I felt bad for pointing it out.  In general I avoid bringing up people's appearance (especially for a complete stranger).  I don't know what come over me that time.

It makes it look like you have an extra tummy. At least the traditional ones.

If you're a woman, you can pull off the look with one of those leather purse-like ones but as a dude you'd look like you're doing Assassins Creed cosplay.

I've been using my back pack as a purse for the past few years.  No one's ever given me any stares over it.
