 He'll still be acting in the role.

He'll probably be replaced as director with David S. Goyer.

Probably a smart move. He's doing fine as an actor and as a director. Probably don't have to suffer through the hassle of heading one of those industrial behemoths if it's not worth it to be put through the grinder.
