lol, dated. This isnt console games, where in one gen you have a controller with a dpad and two buttons and games play and are designed a certain way. Then another gen you have a controller with a single stick and some buttons and games play entirely differently. Then another gen you have twin sticks and games again suffer new design and again play differently. This is where the term "aged games" comes from on this forum. PC games use the same input tool for 30 years. They dont "age". Well, most of them dont. RTS games have the same structure and play the same since Command&Conquer in 1995. If you're having troubles with Starcraft, its all you, not the game.

In preparation for StarCraft: Remastered, Blizzard Entertainment will update StarCraft: Brood War later this week to version 1.18. The update will include bug fixes and improvements, including the ability to rebind keys; observer mode; modern anti-cheat measures; compatibility improvements for Windows 7, 8.1, and 10; and more. Once the update is live, StarCraft Anthology, which includes the original game and the Brood War expansion, will be free to download and play.

enjoy having to buy two Titan X's just to run this at 60fps, loser. I'll stick to the superior N64 version.

My $5000.00 rig is ready. :smug
-
getting rid of the old cutscenes boooo
-
Shit yeah, can't wait. I wonder if they'll redo the groups to be like SC2. Would really change how the OG is played
-
I was pretty bad at this game because I always wanted to play it more like Sim City than an RTS.
-
I don't think there's a game I am worse at than starcraft
day 1

Where is my The Lost Vikings Remaster
-
here: http://us.battle.net/heroes/en/heroes/the-lost-vikings/
as related aside, it's not a remaster but it, rock n' roll racing and blackthorne are sitting "hidden" on battle.net for free like rockstar had the old gta games and stuff on their site for a while:
https://us.battle.net/account/download/?show=classic
i think they're DOSBox packages
-
It's like they saw the FF Mobile remakes and decided that was the right way to do things visually.

Holy shit benji, they put it back! They removed all those 3 last year and redirected the page to their web shop, I was bitching to them on Twitter a few weeks ago, and suddenly they're back! God bless you, bro.
Edit: You made me realize that Eric = Torbjorn, and Baelrog = Roadhog

BTW where's the F2P stuff coming from? I saw a couple articles mention the pricing was still in question, and there's an ars technica article that retardedly calls it "free-as-in-beer," whatever the fuck that's supposed to mean

OG SC will become free.
SC remastered will cost money.

Looks like I was a victim of #fakenews guys. I apologize. Not gonna edit thread title tho, so more people feel the pain I feel.

top comment:
Actually, that's precisely why the expression exists. When you think of obtaining beer, it costs you something. So if someone says "free beer", you know it's related to the aspect of price.
The other, closely related expression is "free as in speech". When you say "free speech", that "free" part is not the same as when you say "free beer". In other words, there are two ways of looking at something that is "free", and this is how you differentiate it.
"Free as in beer" = it's given out without a price. "Gratis"
"Free as in speech" = there's no restriction in using it. "Libre"
In the case of software, "free" can mean either, so we must say that it's either "as in beer", "as in speech", or both. The Starcraft SD being "free as in beer" means that it will cost you nothing to get it, but it will still be subject to licensing restrictions imposed by Blizzard.
On the other hand, open-source software with non-restrictive license would be "free as in speech", in that it gives you freedom to do whatever you wish with it.

Yeah, that's my read on this as well. I'm honestly a little surprised that WC2 wasn't the first title they'd do for this, but I guess SC is the better-balanced game.

i dont disagree but dont shoot the messengers messenger breh
:ufup
ps. i was serious about bore nights with this game if people are down
-
That is still distinguished mentally-challenged
Blame GNU/FOSS for it. *shrug* It's an old-old-old-old school (like 1970's 1980's) computer geek term. No wonder Ars is using it.
