I mean if you're a super fan, the non-play ones  are alright if you're fine with children's books. But Cursed Child has been panned by most fans, AFAIK. I dropped the series after the 4th book.

Definitely will need PD on this one, I know he majored in BBC but pretty sure he at least minored (no amirox) in HP

Cursed Child is wacky fun that fits more as an extra-canon thing than Word of God™ as what happened after the Battle of Hogwarts.

Fantastic Beasts was OK, I expected a little more from it because I got myself hyped but it's a solid first entry in a new series of things. I'm hopeful the sequels will be a lot better now that the origin stuff is out of the way.

Plus the promise of Dumbledore Jude Law vs. Grindelwald Johnny Depp is pretty crazy to imagine. :lawd

I think there's still a lot of potential for good world-building here and I trust Rowling to do it.

Real talk, Harry Potter wasn't good in hindsight and I've forgotten about everything related to those books since book 7.

For the american characters it is. But the main character came from Hogwarts.

They never even state the American houses in Beasts. There's like two mentions of Hogwarts and the American school anyways.

I ain't gonna lie, and I'm not going to go back and re-read to verify, but my impression is that your last few original topic threads have been dumping on various things, espousing why popular opinion is wrong on some topic or another, or otherwise trying to make objective statements about subjective topics.

We don't always agree, and we don't have to, but I do feel you've been pretty negative lately.

In terms of "all popular entertainment is trash :smug" sure, Harry Potter falls under that. It's a book series for children and young adults. Within those parameters I think it's the best I've seen. Very endearingly-written characters, generally good pacing (outside Goblet/Order...), fresh-feeling and consistent world, and an interesting plot with various twists and turns.

Goblet of Fire is amazing, wtf are people talking about?

Goblet the book was great.

Goblet the movie was probably the weakest one, though.

I've been without hormones for months. Very few things to be positive about. I'm miserable. These fucks just have to deal with it.

Yeah, and I feel bad for you about that. You're still making choices in how you communicate.

I've been on the opposite side of it, where I posted mainly happy stuff when I was dealing with a pretty serious depression. FWIW, it didn't work for me.

Hope you get your scrips filled soon, and can regain balance.
