TBH Wild World was pretty fucking ahead of the game with its touch-only interface. Was my preferred way to play too and was kinda sad New Leaf did away with it (made sense because of the 3DS's asymmetrical screens, but still.)

Literally what is the point of having Kicks in it if the song from his store isn't playing

Also between this and Home Designer I wonder what they're saving for the inevitable Animal Crossing on the Switch

Neat. Finally a Nintendo app that I can use on my ancient Android 4.3 mobile phone. Most others (like the parental and online/Splatoon apps) want 4.4 or later.

It's gonna be just like miitomo though. Starts off with a huge hype and melting servers, then everyone will run away as soon as the novelty wears off.

Still, for a while it's gonna be fun.

So the game is pretty okay so far. Very tutorial heavy at the start, but has mellowed out since. Very mobile like, you tap on a fish to go fishing and just wait for a prompt, tap on an insect and wait for a prompt etc. Each area seems to have one specific thing to do, so the beach has fish and you have a rod but you can't catch insects whereas another area has insects but you can't fish. At least you can move yourself around by either tap or dragging. Oh, and unless I just missed them the skin tone options aren't available yet. Just sex, eyes, hair style and hair colour.

A quick pic from in game.

Post by: Drongo on October 25, 2017, 04:01:34 AM
I never played Wild World but it seems pretty standard for mobile games. You can either tap on the screen or drag your finger to move the character. You just tap on a point of interest like a tree, shell, fish etc. to interact with it.

Is there a car ride with the kappa? How does character creation work? :)
Title: Re: Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp - All of Triumph's Hate and Himu's Love
Post by: Drongo on October 25, 2017, 04:23:00 AM
Character creation works by having you choose what sex you want to be, then you go to a character creation screen with three tabs. There is hair style, eye style and colours. The colours tab lets you choose your hair colour, eye colour and skin tone. The colour tab is a little annoying since you have to scroll down to see the other options, which is why I thought they hadn't integrated skin tone yet. Except for their sex you're able to modify your characters looks at any point through the settings menu.

No sign of Kappa so far. The game starts with K.K. Slider asking you a question about what you like to do; chill out, go exploring etc. After that you just end up at the camp site and talk to Isabelle who helps you choose an initial theme and teaches you the basics. Seems after that you're more or less left on your own and except for tutorials about new mechanics.

Yup! Every single one.

Yes, buuuut there's more of a sense of ownership and interconnectivity. The camp and trailer are a poor imitation of owning your own house, and the segmented zones are counter to the open-air feel of AC. (You can fish and catch bugs anywhere in your town in your typical AC game.)

The Nintendo Direct for this caught me off guard. I was interested in seeing how Nintendo would handle Animal Crossing on Mobile, but I wasn’t expecting to get excited for it! Out of everything, the relationship meter is a feature I’m very happy to see implemented here.

This is honestly my problem with Animal Crossing (and by proxy most Nintendo titles): There's no sense of "accomplishment" or progress or "goal" or whatever. I'm not sure how to word it. Animal Crossing is relaxing, but it kinda gets old after a few days. Paying off your debt isn't really that appealing to me since real-life already has that. :doge :doge :doge :doge :doge :doge :doge

New Leaf was the first one I played seriously and I didn't bother that much with museum and such, I was more focused in making my town looking really good.

Lots of paths and shit, different fruits, flowers, trees, etc. Then I got some issue with my SD and lost 130 hours of progress

It's been two years and I'm still mad

I loaded up NL after not playing it in ages, not realizing there was a major update since I last played, and I almost screamed when I started the game and found myself back on the train cuz I assumed the same thing had happened to me. Terrible feeling

Tbh the 'goal-less' nature of AC is a big part of the charm to me. There are things you can unlock by collecting x number of things, but the shit it unlocks is less of the focus than the actual act of collection itself. It actively discourages a lot of typical game impulses of binging it and ploughing through the available content by sectioning off advancement via the in game clock. You can time travel, sure, but that kind of defeats the whole purpose, to the point where the game literally scolds you for doing so.

I'm sure this is overreaching a bit, but I've seen people talk about how well the game demonstrates concepts like Ma and Wabi Sabi, and while I'm not well versed in Japanese philosophy or aesthetics, from what I do know I'm inclined to agree with those sentiments. It's a lot less "let me hunt down x to unlock y" and more "oh, I've been doing this for a while, and now there's observable progress."

Honestly, if the "goal-less" dicking around nature of AC (or the Sims, or whatever) is to your liking, then that's cool. Your tastes are your own and inherently subjective, you don't have to defend them to anyone else.

...that doesn't mean I won't fucking make fun of them, tho, so just be ready for that.

What's the big part?

I don't see how it's hard?

Have you not played New Leaf? if you haven't, it'll honestly just come off as trolling because you seem uninformed.

In New Leaf you are the mayor. This means you set laws and goals for your town.

You have unlocks. For example. You get more and more unlocks the better your town gets.

You can:

- Go for maximum appreciation from your citizens. Popularity unlocks new things.
- Go for upgrades. Like the train station upgrade, which is unlocked at 100 visits from guests I believe. Animal Crossing has a clear line of progression. The more you spend, the more you unlock. The more you unlock the more fun it gets and the more options you have. One goal can just be to unlock everything.
- Customizing your own shit. I made my own clothes for example and designed everything from scratch. I would buy lots of stuff at the shoe and clothing stores to complete my ensemble. I basically made it into my own Barbie.

http://www.thebore.com/forum/index.php?topic=40131.msg1712030#msg1712030

I made these clothes from scratch.

Basically, if you want to, Animal Crossing can become just customizing shit. Whether it's your town with your own quirky laws, or the layout of the thing, or your own clothes. It's a really creative, personal experience and lots of fun.

- hanging out with friends. Animal Crossing NL had online play and we would all regularly play at night time for fun visits to the island. Also:

The best way to get lots of cash is by going to the island so with friends it's even better. But more than that, it can make things competitive. I want this before my friend does! I want that before they get it! It can be really fun to compete with each other in terms of progress.

I can think of lots of things and others have to help me on this because I can't possibly do the game justice. I spent 300-400 hours on it. So make what you want of it.

I just don't get why I have to explain the appeal here. It's like saying,"WHAT IS THE LONG TERM GOAL OF THIS GAME?" when you play Civilization or Sim City. It's a total :crazy question to me.

I just think saying AC is "goalless" is a complete misrepresentation.

Civ has long term goals/win conditions.

SimCity has scenarios as win conditions, the sandbox may be "Animal Crossing"-ish, but that's a bit of a stretch.

It applies. Animal Crossing is simply a game where winning depends on yourself. No different than Civ and certain victories.

I played the game for like 30 hours and still don't see the point of anything I did in the game. I'm a sucker for fishing minigames and collecting stuff though.

I guess it's just like a Minecraft thing were I don't understand the appeal either. Seems the appeal of the game are the goals you set for yourself. But the game isn't programmed to react to any of the stuff you decide to do on your own.

By that same coin Animal Crossing is basically a digital puppethouse. I guess it's just that I expect more from a game than just a tool for expression.

I mean, yeah... but in Minecraft's case I can't get into it's "survival" mode at all. I've tried like 2-3 times and it's just boring sitting there hitting blocks to build things quickly to avoid monsters. It's kinda the same with Animal Crossing: Once you've done the tutorial and stuff, it's like "welp."

'

What's the point of any game then? To win? Some arcade games like Donkey Kong were so hard you could never beat them. Donkey Kong even kills you at level 22. You can't "beat" Donkey Kong. Is there no point to Donkey Kong then? What's the point of playing a fighting game in single player mode? You're just playing shitty AI that reads your inputs. But a lot of people like that. Is there no point there? Some people play metal Gear Solid games for the story, I play them for the gameplay. I played GTA games for creative mission design and different ways of doing things, others just buy them to kill random NPC's and go ham.

I don't understand why there has to be an inherent "point" to a games appeal and don't see why this is any different than any other game.

Hey! Donkey Kong is about that sweet high score. Cranky Kong also gave me a coin for beating it twice.

This game is real relaxing. I don't even know why I keep playing...I think I just want a cool pair of pants.

Just hit level 20, I hope I can switch my region to USA when it actually releases.

Should I try New Leaf or do you guys really think a switch game is coming any time soon?

Considering Nintendo is still about to release this, I'd be surprised to see Animal Crossing Switch in the next year or so

I'm not so sure I agree, to be honest. If they added even a tiny smidgen of interconnectivity between an as of yet theoretical switch title and this mobile one, they could make quite a bit more moneys. Cross promotion can do terrible damage to weak willed consumers. And frankly, the AC fanbase are ripe for this kind of abuse.

W're sheep. Baaaah.

I figure they'd milk this for all its worth before moving on to the next game (and possibly milking again with cross interconnectivity or whatever)

And even if they do announce it before the end of the year I don't think it would be released in less than six months

Iunno, mang, they already have HD assets and probably a few leftover bits from the AC board game/Mario Party knockoff on WiiU. And the AC channel. I mean, it seems pretty obvious they were halfway through an AC when the WiiU cratered. Which means, a recycling/salvaging of that project shouldn't be all that far-fetched for them since it'd be cheap and cost effective.

I guess we'll see how it goes. Six months feels kinda tight. Nine to twelve, though? That'd be quite possible, I guess.

Once you get past level 7 or so you unlock heaps of shit. I've been bingeing this shit hard and am level 13 already  :rkelly

Game is legit fucking awesome. Already spent $6 on a welcome pack or some shit. The f2p aspect seems good, the game dishes out a lot of resources through all the tutorials and easy AF goals. I can see myself playing this for a good while.

Biggest gripe is you need to visit a friend's campsite to buy shit out of their market box, should just be able to do it from the friends list. At least the friends show up in the diff areas. Make sure you guys list stuff to buy!!!

Haven't figured out how the fuck the quarry works yet, might read up on it.

Also, this game is about... 25% Animal Crossing. It's good for a mobile title, but in a lot of ways it feels like a backslide for the series - mostly around the social aspects. All the emphasis on online friends in New Leaf was the best part of the game and I think that's how the Switch version is gonna differentiate itself other than being the "full" version. If AC Switch builds on the online stuff New Leaf had then it'll have a pretty big advantage over Pocket Camp.

In comparison, this game is a good distraction and gives you a good sense of that AC "customize your town and show it off" aspect. But there's no real-time multiplayer, no co-op minigames, and even the "Market Box" feels like a step back (I can't take items back? Ever??)

...Needless to say I've already spent money on this game. :P

As for the game...it's ok. It barely functions as an Animal Crossing game and is a basic collect em all game. It's fun but I can see the charm wearing off fast. It doesn't have the appeal of Animal Crossing for me. Like I can't buy clothes yet and the default clothes I got are killing me tbh

You can buy clothes at the Market Place, it has rotating vendors. Other than that.. sucks having to wait to level up villagers for a shirt. This is my first time playing AC so I like it. Excited to see what they add eventually, even Miitomo improved a lot from launch in the first months.

Addendum: The experience itself feels way too "game-ified." Which is a weird complaint but AC was always more of a life sim than a pure game. Adding levels to everything (especially friendships) feels weird. More suited to mobile of course, but much less organic than relationships in real ACs.

Talk to them, craft amenities. New amenities give all animals on your camp a big XP boost.

TBH if you wanna level up one animal hard it's probably best to kick them off your camp, and use a calling card and request cards in one of the other spots. Using the cards also provides a good amount of XP.

I've noticed once animals hit level 7 or so they'll start asking for rarer stuff (eg a horned beetle, bass fish) and giving better bonuses and gaining more XP. I have heaps of rare fish stashed away for the higher levels lol. I also have a blowfish for sale for 15 grand lmfao (it was the games RRP for the fish)
Title: Re: Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp - All of Triumph's Hate and Himu's Love
Post by: Tasty on November 25, 2017, 12:23:09 AM
You have to level up your amenities to get them higher than level 7. You start at T1 and can increase to T3, which will let you level villagers up to 20.

Has anyone figured out the fucking quarry works lol :noah

Once a day you can invite people to "help" you with the quarry. If five of them do, you get into it without paying leaf tickets. If this happens, the people who "helped" you each get 100 bells. If you fail to get 5 and enter the quarry, then the people who did help you will get 10 bells.

When you invite someone to help, a shovel will displayed on your entry in the friends list screen. That will tell the person they can click on you and "help" you.

You can also pay 20 leaf tickets once a day to enter. So I think at max you can only ever enter the quarry is twice a day.

Holy shit you can get mad Bells in the MyNintendo screen. Just got 1000 silver AC coins or whatever for various "missions."

100 coins = 5000 bells

I just got 50,000 fucking bells. :o

This is a hot tip, thx

I'm almost level 26 (http://www.thecoli.com/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/sadcam.png)

A few musings and tips:

The ultra-rare stuff seems pretty useless atm as I haven't had a single request from any animal for a football fish, jewel beetle, koi, etc. I figure the requests will come once an animal get above level 10 (my amenity for level 15 for the "cool" animals is crafting atm). So currently theres a bunch of these rare creatures at exorbitant prices clogging up peoples market boxes. I'm sandbagging all the rares I get in my inventory and not listing them for the time being.

The "medium rare" items (bass, snapper and horned dynastid) have been requested relatively often for me, so it's a good idea to list these. The animals give 1k bells for each of these when requested (plus +3 XP and crafting loot), so you can sell excess of these for 1k each or a little less for a more enticing sale.

To complete requests efficiently I've been keeping my stock of common items at around 5 apiece. So to supplement this I've been buying tons of incidental stuff from peoples Market Boxes when their avatar is hanging out at one of the resource gathering locations, so its a good idea to keep a variety of common stock listed so people like me can scoop it up!

I bought lots of underpriced stuff off Andrex yesterday, you need to charge more! I'll often pay several hundred bells for a common item i need if I need it to complete a request for an animal that's rights there.

Also I burned through all my calling cards and request tickets while grinding up friendship levels. Calling cards are a whopping 30 LEAF TICKETS each to purchase. Really pricey.

I made the sucker mistake of buying the KK Slider chair, turns out if you have that and the Tom Nook chair on your campsite, only one of them will appear at random. Terrible. Feel a bit ripped off by these premium items but the collector in me had to have them

1. I want to be the first stop for people looking for a specific item. ;) Building a "brand name" here. (And it seems to be working! I've been rotating out 60-80% of my inventory these past couple days, and I have 12 slots. :o)

2. I want all my items to sell. Once it's in the box, I can't replace its spot without completely losing it. So yeah, them selling at all is imperative.

It's all pure profit anyways, so 10-50 bells over the in-game price is completely fine for me.

You have to craft the original version of the chair (white), then eventually it'll let you craft the second version (pink) which uses the first as one of its materials.

I also put up lotsa cheap stuff I don't need because I want to help others, which is why I try to sell them in packs of 3 at 100 bells if I have enough. I use the Market Place too a lot to buy stuff, although I find lately that most just sell coral and horned dynastids. Really wish it was easier it browse though. Would've been neat with a search function that filtered out friends who doesn't have it in their boxes. Or put up orders, that'd be real fucking neat, so we can also check who needs what at which price, and sell to them while they're not even there.

Certain animals give specific materials I think. The higher the animal's friendship level the more stuff they yield. I've had animals give out like 6 cotton fairly regularly. You'll be sweet if you keep leveling the animals.

Also you can get piles of materials from the My Nintendo tab, cash in your missions and go wild. Heaps of good free stuff in the My Nintendo

https://animalcrossingpocketcamp.gamepedia.com/Cotton

From gifts, requests, and friendship level ups for:

Agnes, Bitty, Bud, Maggie, Rex, Roald, Tex

It's also rewarded at the quarry sometimes, so you can ask to lend a hand anytime, and they won't be deleted during cycles if you don't enter, so you can wait until it says cotton to enter if you get 5 helping hands before it shows up.

I always say it's more important to use the Nintendo Points for materials, not bells. It's ridiculously easy to get bells, you can even shake fruitless trees and bells might fall out.

Lol sorry, it's mainly me self-flagellating for playing this game such an ungodly amount. I'm crafting amenities like a madman currently, trying to ensure I get to raise the level caps on animals before they max out. Yeah, Google Play has achievements, you can view them from the "misc" tab in the large main menu

Word on the street is that some people have maxed animal's friendship levels but they've never asked for the rare items, and those rare fish and bugs currently have no use. Guess we gotta wait for an update or something. edit: according to this thread https://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/225791-animal-crossing-pocket-camp/76023587 someone claims they have had a request for a football fish... I'm hanging on to my inventory just in case

My next campsite project is gonna be a post-apocalyptic gladiator ring with Tom Nook as arbiter. Gotta craft a few more items first

Same, I'm constantly blowing cash on stuff I don't want, just to collect it. I need to save 10k to craft Cherry's special sports car right now. Apparently you get hooked up with consumables (ie. request tickets) and 10XP for completing an animal's special crafting request

I've decided to only list things if I have more than 10, as it suuucks when you get hit with several animals all with 3x squid requests (seems to happen a lot)

I got a good shop set up but my prices are perhaps a little high, I'm doing 100 bell 2packs mostly. Not too much merchandise shifting. I'm gonna lower my prices on subsequent listings. One of the japanese players on my friends roster runs a tight ship with 60 bell 2 packs. I'm always buying off her and giving kudos!

Gonna burn some leaf tickets to help construct Tom Nook's Thunderdome soon

Good point lol. Theres a pretty ugly monkey which has turned up for me recently. I dont like him.

I'm level 35 and each request cycle now has calls for snappers, black bass and horned dynastids. This is awesome as these requests pay out 1k bells and good amounts of crafting materials. I'm pretty much crafting what I want now with no issues with resouces

Holy smokes, a whole bunch of timed Christmas goals just went up (looks like xmas day is the expiry date). A lot of new stuff to craft with a new candy cane resource, and leaf tickets up for grabs too!

Edit: The goals are really easy and half of them give you more candy canes to help complete the other ones. Animals are giving out candy canes on top of their normal stuff. Basically free leaf tickets up for grabs here. I'm not really a fan of the xmas trappings myself. Still, free shit!

You can only display two at once, but your process is saved regardless if you display them or not. So since you use the amenities to raise level caps on the different types, that works even if you don't have them up.

Certain animals drop cotton as their main reward, gotta find those guys. I think which animals turn up is random after level 6 or so. Valkyrie posted this handy link last page: https://animalcrossingpocketcamp.gamepedia.com/Cotton . Grind the bastards out with request/calling tickets

I'm level 40 now and leveling has gotten much slower as all the animals have arrived, and each level takes more animal level ups on top of that. I've been crafting a few of the "special request" items and these take 24hrs, 10k bells and a ton of crafting items to make. Is this the endgame already? I guess the ultimate goal is fill out the whole catalog and get all 40 animal pictures. Should be good for like a years gameplay haha. Looking forward to seeing what they add to this game over time

Did you get the candy canes solely from helping other animals? If so, how long did it take you to accumulate 300?

If not, don't worry. I'm not going to spend leaf tickets on quarry access and I have no intention on adding Bore weebos just so I have enough people to get free access.

Since the holiday event started, I've spent 610 candy canes on furniture. It's pretty easy to save up, just do quests and quarry. Add random people and send them invites. I accept all friend requests because of the quarry, worked in my favor. Good to have people living in different timezones too since not everyone bother lending a hand.

I've just been crafting whatever those pesky animals ask for so my camp's been a mess from day one. I also upgraded my camper twice but didn't even touch its insides

Also feels like some days a bunch of animals will request one specific item that will refuse to spawn properly and get me running to a dozen different camps trying to buy it. It's happened with two different kinds of shell, horse mackerels, and fruit beetles earlier today. Caught an army of butterflies and a bunch of horned dynastids while waiting for the green little shits to spawn. After I got a couple of them, bought some more and completed all the requests they start to spawn properly. Starting to feel like those spawn chances are rigged

Good thing you don't have to keep the request craft items around after the animals arrive, easier to keep it looking nice and the way you want.

I read something on Discord today that you can force a reset on stuff like bugs and fish by restarting the app. So of you scare away a rare, it'll apparently be there when you restart the app right after it escaped.

Whenever you invite new animals to your camp, just do the auto-arrange for their furnitures, wait for the intro to be done and then you get an option to remove them again after.

This is great advice. I thought the auto option would just stick all the shit somewhere, but having it go away afterwards is really nice

I'm having trouble keeping my market box stocked lol. A few players have figured out I try to keep it well supplied.

The AC:PC reddit is quite good, some good memes, fanart and strats: https://www.reddit.com/r/ACPocketCamp/

A couple of things I learned which may have been obvious:

Daily timed goals are different for everyone!

The fruit trees at the river are different for everyone! I was wondering why my pears and cherries were selling well as I assumed everyone had an abundance of them, turns out they're my "native" fruits.

Also, if you shake random non-fruit trees, sometimes they drop a bag of bells! Haven't browsed that reddit yet, time to see if I can find something interesting~

It does say in the notification/ press release that you may need to level for the animals to appear. Not 100% on any specifics though. I have a bunch that the first 6 or so visitors are preset so you should get Bluebear on the way to level ten? Idk

Here's Tom Nook's xtreme gladiator ring. The animals fight each other with their preferred garden tool while Emperor Nook looks on. I'm going for a post apocalyptic kinda vibe so I'm desperately wanting the gas pump from Phoebe and the Tractor from Tad - need both of em to be level 15 tho

I was lucky that I really liked Tex the penguin and power-leveled his ass, now he gives like 10 cotton per request.

My advice would be to rinse the My Nintendo rewards for cotton and/or burn request/calling tickets on a cotton giving animal

Here's a handy reference chart with animal info. I think the consensus best-method for farming cotton (or anything else) is to load up your campsite with as many cotton-givers as possible and talk to them all every hour.

Been around the same level range for a while now, I find playing such a chore because I went too hard in the start. I don't usually bother with more than 2ish rotations daily now. Hopefully the clothes crafting and other updates will make things more exciting again. And I really hope the recipes are good, and not as shitty as all the ugly stuff they sell at the market. I saw a cute bunny hat/coat in the preview on Twitter, so at least there's hope. There's tons of good clothes in Miitomo too, a lot of fun collaborations, like the full Zelda wig + outfit. Hoping they'll put a little effort into some cool stuff in ACPC too.

The only animal left for me to invite is Flip, and he is disgusting and will never visit my campsite.

I had to raise the price on my Market Box stuff as 100 bell 3 packs got cleared out too quick, and I cant offer a good variety of goods consistently if I cant keep up with demand, so 150 bell 3 packs is what I've settled on. This has worked well and I have satisfied regular customers! I do hope they make the marketplace more efficient, ie. being able to see someones entire stock before visiting them. SO many players have overpriced snappers and dynastids clogging up their top slots.

The rock concert stage is totally sweet and its real fun watching the animals rock out. Currently waiting for my merry go round to finish.

I'm getting a bit bored of the central gameplay loop but this game is so so so good to play on a bus commute and I love trying to collect everything. Looking forward to the new features, bonuses and events. A lot of high profile review sites have lambasted the microtransactions, but they are so far from necessary. So many Leaf Tickets are given away free via gameplay so you can get the premium cosmetics with no money. Really don't get the complaints.

The rewards from the requests seem the same to me, but the stuff they give you at the camp is pretty sweet. The "who wants to talk to you warning" is cool too. Now I could use a button to ask everyone for help at the quarry at once instead of individually inviting every friend.

Gardening looks pretty bland so far though

As long as you have them crafted you can remove and replace the ones you've built anytime you want. It's not like they disappear when you level them up into another design, which is really nice.

After the last update I've decided to keep 5-7 animals on deck with a single peice of furniture needed to invite them. I realized that if I'd already invited everyone besides the new villagers I'd be fucked on the timed goals related to inviting them cuz it would longer than allotted to raise their levels construct the wanted furniture.

Also thanks for the market box, you have the second best box on my friends list next to the diehard who somehow manages to keep their box full of 3 stock of everything :O

Been stuck around level 53 for a long time since I ran out of essence, and have maxed out all Cool and Natural villagers. Finally had enough now after keeping my camp full of Naturals, and got to craft that fucking tree house. If only we could convert essence, this dumb problem wouldn't exist. I lost so many +6 to leveled out animals.

I'm still grossly addicted to this game and spend too much time on it. Maxed out the Rock Stage and now working on maxing the Hot Air Ballon.

The current event is a motherfucker. I play a lot and will only just scrape through completing it (need 5 more gold winter butterflies). The capture RNG is horrible and more casual players will likely only be able to complete it by spending money on leaf tickets. I guess the F2P had to end at some point.

I'll likely have spare butterflies over the next day so let me know if you need some (and make sure you leave some flowers blooming in your garden!)

So, I just got my new phone and can finally play this. Currently at level four with six animals roaming about my camp site. I seem to have nine days left to grab all the winter stuff... doesn't seem worth it. I'll just try to get the halfpipe because that one seems to give a bonus.

Man, the automatic furniture option when you're about to finally invite an animal over may have smoothed out the game flow considerably, but why implement this mechanic and then implement a free fully automated workaround.
Also, I misclicked and now my camp looks like ass after I had spent considerable time making it look a little bit less ass.

Fun, this. However, I gotta be honest here, it only makes the wait for the switch AC so much worse. :'(
