It was a pretty good series.

Indeed.

...although some of the games made me feel like a kiddy fiddler due to the artwork. Their tweaks to the formula never really paid off, either, so things became a bit formulaic as time went on.

Wait, why are we talking in the past tense?

I really liked the one that was on the Wii and PS3.

Wait, why are we talking in the past tense?

Because the developer doesn't exist anymore.

The original Wii game is one of the secret best RPGs. The amount of things to do and discover is insane. I didn't mind the waifu shipping, because the series originated from Harvest Moon. People then said 3 is one of the best. So I got it, but was a underwhelmed by the handholding and linearity.

But then again, I also much prefer the adventure structure of the first Harvest Moon over the ones that have all the tools and NPCs available from the get-go.

The Wii one was definitely the best one. Such a relaxing feel to play it. But those fucking Runeys eventually ruin the whole thing.

There was some trick that would produce automatic Runeys for the majority of the year. Something like having a few in each area at the start of a new season (or something similar in that vein).

Runeys were a mistake. :-\
Because the developer doesn't exist anymore.
Neverland might be dead and buried (especially after essentially being given a second chance at life with Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven and botching that), but I still think there's a chance the franchise might soldier on somehow.

Besides, if I accepted that Rune Factory is a goner, then the same would necessarily apply for Lufia. And that just cannot be. The Nile is a river in Egypt. La la la, can't hear you!

6 Rune Factory games came out over the course of 7 years, since then it's been 4.5 years since the last Rune Factory. It's time to let it go, breh.

really with Stardew Valley and others it looks like the whole "there's a dungeon for mining" kind of thing has seeped into the genre so that's not a bad thing. But yeah, Rune Factory is dead dude. DEAD.
Especially if you played Rune factory 4? You'd remember how broken that all was. Fun, but so broken.
