Didn't see a thread on this one yet.... I have to say that I was interested when it was first announced, but lately it seems to be shaping up to be something quite unique. Trying to keep expectations in check, as this can easily fall victim of jank haven, but it's hopefully gonna be polished up more for release. It's pretty damn gorgeous, historically accurate (for the most part) and the amount of realism/detail they're putting in this (16 separate sections for clothing/armor! :o ), this could pave the way for a new sub-genre of RPG's.

Of course, being an open world RPG, I expect a good slew of bugs still... which makes me wonder if I should wait till they iron some things out and/or the price drops some (cuz I'm a cheap ass.)

I haven't been following it too closely over the last year or two, but the basic concept is enough to get me interested. Unless it's just complete garbage, I'll buy it and play it.

Seems like the voice acting is top-notch. The story seems deep and involved…
I was completely on-board until the continuous shots of first-person melee, which just isn't my bag. 3rd person or bust for my old sensibilities, I guess.

Pretty much.
Some of the concepts look interesting, the overall package just isn't for me.

Yeah, i think it's the melee combat that concerns me the most. I was initially thinking, "If I can enjoy the combat in Skyrim, I should be ok with this.... right?" :doge

Expecting this to be some kind of Elder Scrolls-style Euro jank in the end. "Historically-accurate" translates to "boring" to me.
Why can't we get some Japan-jank-like game with a European-equivalent to Dynasty Warriors?

I can see that, yeah. However, I can see it also benefit education in terms of learning history in a more in depth way. Obviously besides the fictional aspect of it, to really immerse the player into the emotion and politics of said era/time, it can help to better understand how people lived and what they had to go through during that time under such rulers and such.

Exactly. That's a prime example. Wouldn't anybody rather learn history that way? ;) I'd be all over dat too.
Until we get VR holodeck reenactments of history, this is a great direction into that field.
Anywho, the trophy list has been shown online. There's one where you can go through the main quest without killing anyone. That shows a good bit of flexibility in terms of gameplay.
Also you can get a trophy for staying a virgin throughout you play through. :lol
Of course, this is all speculation fueled by the current hype on this game... next week can't get here soon enough.

Using archery while in stealth is pretty much the only reason to ever take the archery skill.
