this is a dumb "gotcha" thing. There's clearly two audio tracks. A deeper voice saying Laurel and a softer voice whispering Yanny at the same time. It's not an illusion of any kind.

I'm calling bullshit, they mixed two separate tracks. I hear both at the same time. Yanny has a slight delay behind Laurel, actually.
