Burnout 3: Takedown.

@Trash Panic: I own that, and put some time into it, but I didn't understand the most effective way of taking the trash out compared to Tetris where you stack and then quickly drill down. I got up to I think the third level or when they introduce fire/matches but couldn't get past it.

I also own Tokyo Jungle and it's a solid game, but I never did "complete" it. Kept dying to starvation or not being able to evolve.

i dont even think most shit needs remasters. just port the fucking games, maybe do some quality of life improvements. there's so many great games out there that you can only play by digging up some old hardware or dealing with a mediocre emulator it pisses me off.

What about games that are logistically difficult to get ahold of i.e. Panzer Dragoon Saga? What about games that never came to the US to begin with like Shining Force 3 parts 2 and 3? Not to mention those are both games on a system notoriously tricky to emulate with no surviving source code, so a re-release would probably have to be built from the ground up. I'm a big fan of classic gaming but I can see plenty of reasons why a game would need a remaster.

Bluebyte's Albion  (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albion_(video_game))(now merged into Ubisoft).

Going out on a limb, but all Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles themed games. There's some crap, but many if not most games could be genuinely awesome if someone actually cared and invested enough money. And even if not, there's a bunch of fun games (and a bunch of mediocre ones). If nothing else, then the first game please. I'd be up to bucket bitch my way through toxic wastelands any day of the week.

The Rub Rabbits DS games. I dun care if you hated them because they were fancy collections of minigames, they're great fun and super stylized and tongue in cheek fancy collections of minigames.

I would also do many dirty things to get a remaster of Dokapon (Kingdom/entire series) and/or that Animal Crossing Board game that delivered a swift and decisive kick to the nads of WiiU owners worldwide due to not being Animal Crossing U. But Dokapon Kingdom would need a baby mode. Always got humiliated by the CPU. Like, "made to crawl in the dirt and request permission to piss myself in terror" levels of ownage.  :'(

Axelay. There should be a billion sequels, but alas.

SWIV 3D (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SWIV_3D). It was a fun voxel shooter. Waaaay too big map for its own good, and kinda barebones, but I loved it. Even though it was the last, terrible offshoot of the SWIV/Silkworm franchise (as far as I'm aware).

Krazy Ivan (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krazy_Ivan). 'cuz he Kray Kray. No seriously, mediocre game, but I'd like to have a go at it in FHD with 60FPS and better graphics.

Bonus: Metroid Prime Hunters. If one could actually see what's going on and control the action on screen, it might become a great game? Maybe? Probably. I think.

...and Metroid Pinball. It was a genuinely awesome game, dammit.  >:(

Destruction Derby 64 by Looking Glass Studios

Quote
Jeff Gerstmann of GameSpot wrote, "Graphically, Destruction Derby 64 surpasses the old PlayStation games by quite a bit - not that that is a particularly hard thing to do". He found that its framerate was adequate even in split-screen mode, and concluded that it was "a better game than its PlayStation counterparts". He finished, "Give it a rent next time you're rounding up the posse for a day of gaming."

Sony taking cues from modern Zelda with a new/remade Alundra would be a good move. Ignore whatever Alundra 2 was.

Actually hell I'd definitely take a straight port of Galaxy 1/2 just in 1080p 60fps.

I'm not sure starbits are as big a deal as people make them. For starters the Joycons can emulate it (not perfectly since it's not IR, but close enough), but aside from that all you need to do is have starbits drawn to Mario when they're on-screen. Yeah it'll make parts of the game easier but starbits are really only used for content locks, which take more time than skill to unlock anyways.

Wouldn't work for playing in handheld mode.  Wasn't there also minor waggle for certain moves too?

Nothing that couldn't be substituted with a button press... just like SMW.   Only the 2nd player start collecting thing would probably have to be reworked a bit, i would think.

I really want a remaster of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, it's probably my #1 most desired remake. And I've played the game many, many times, so clearly it's current state doesn't bother me. But if I could get a version with modern graphics, redone combat, and reconstruction of content that was cut out or trimmed down, I'd drop $60 in a second for that.

Not really under-appreciated and we actually need a fullblown Bluepoint remake for Silent Hill 2  :noah

Also, a couple of years ago I played Crash Racing PS1 for the first time and was shocked that it was mechanically better than most of Mario Kart - I wouldn't even need a full remake like the other Crash games, just put on a HD filter and online mode and you get the definite Kart game.

Asura's Wrath deserves at least a Xbox One Enhanced version. I'd love a PC version.

But the reason I want something for the game is that the both console versions have plenty of slowdown. Which somewhat hampers the gorgeous animation and cinematic flair the game has. Also the game has great artwork and graphic work that would shine with much better image quality.

YES! It's from some dudes on the Tekken team; the director never did anything else after it came out. It's kind of a hot mess that cribs from Half-Life, but it does a ton of SUPER CRAZY SHIT that was mindblowing for its time.

If you play it (and maybe you shouldn't because it's kind of bad) play on EASY, on Normal difficulty it's pretty much fucking impossible (at least when we played it via BC on Xbone).

Also...if you wanna get the Breakdown experience in 2018 I highly recommend the RE7 DLC where you play as the good ol' swamp boy fistfighting government agents and suplexing Cthulhu.

Shadows of the Damned would also make for a new PC version or cheap port. It's a nice arcadey RE4 like game. Would be fun to replay if at 60 FPS and cleaned up visuals.

Feel like the PS3/360 gen is a black hole of decent Japanese console games that deserve newer versions to clean up technical imperfections and be preserved.

Shinobi PS2
Nightshade PS2
Gunvalkyrie Xbox
Jet Set Radio / Jet Set Radio Future combo back DC/Xbox
Powerstone 1 & 2 pack with online play DC
Skies of Arcadia DC

Maybe Saturn stuff like Burning Rangers or Shining Force III but really doubt those will hold up visually at modern resolutions.

Front Mission 5 would be cool since it never got localized, right? And it looked pretty good visually.

Bloodrayne.  As jank as the first one was, it was so damn fun to play.

This one at least can be played on PC at higher resolutions and all that, albeit with some tweaks and possible patches.  Am trying to get it running properly on there now.

Legacy of Kain collection. Seems like this series was completely forgotten, despite its success back in the day. Also, most of the easily avalaible versions of Blood Omen, Soul Reaver 1 and 2 are janky one way or the other... there needs to be a definite collection.

Doesn’t Front Mission 5 run on whatever was powering FFXII? They sure look similar.

At least the PS2 has good emulation.

Shadows Of The Damned and Lollipop Chainsaw would both be nice with this treatment.  The latter had some DLC that became impossible to get after a certain point, IIRC, although you could get it all from a Japanese re-release or special edition that had it included.  Hard to remember...it wasn't anything major, just costumes, but still annoying.

F-Zero RX

Remaster of F-Zero GX.
Gimme.  :-\

The Last Story (fun RPG by Sakaguchi released only on Wii)
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance / Radiant Dawn (before Fire Emblem was hot shit these GameCube/Wii installments could be had for 50 cents on discount. Now they cost an arm and a leg)

Japanese Xbox 360 / PS3 jank. The PS2 classics get remastered all the time. But what about MGS4, Ace Combat 6, Binary Domain, the fake 'Tales of' game about Chopin or something).

Oh there's tons more. What about the PS2 Castlevania's. Did Konami miss the memo that walking simulators make big bugs now?

No idea. Would be interesting if it was. I felt like until recently (mid-PS3 gen) every game had its own engine in Japan.

I don't think there was any shared code on that one.
