Not even the rosiest of rose color glasses can save most of those Gen 1 and 2 Game Boy/Color sprites.

 :kobeyuck :whatisthis

Some of the unused designs would look neat in a new game, though.

A couple seem to have made it out in later gens, like Tirtouga, Mime Jr., and Sharpedo.

I'm just as/much more interested in the overworld/story changes.

The original Red/Green sprites were the origin of the word "derpy." :doge

And most of the pokemon looked like a big ugly blob of pixels from behind.  :'(

And Leafeon.

"It's a beta for Celeb--"

BatmanSmackingRobin.jpg Nope. The Japanese name (apparently) uses the same naming convention of the other Eeveelutions. So bizarre they sat on it.

Also the Fire Start was so much better than what we got for that generation. Don't @ me. I won't hear otherwise, because you're wrong.

Also fucking Farfetch'd ROBBED of an Evolution or sideevolution or Ms. FarFetch'd. Either way, someone at Gamefreak needs their wig continuously snatched and dragged until they relent on that.

All the Pokemon that got evos in this but still haven't is just really sad. :(

Also the Tangela evos here are better than Tangrowth. :doge

New thread title, more general topic now.

Updated because a prototype for the first House of the Dead was released today after 21 years. Lots of unused content here.

AndyGeezerServices had released pictures and footage of the prototype version of The House of the Dead on the internet after 21 years. This prototype features two playable levels and tons of unused content such as a different introduction, dialogue, animation, and sound effects (which one of them happens to be the “Reload!” sound from the Virtua Cop series). AndyGeezerServices submitted the prototype to MAME and we hope it’ll be open to the public for newer discoveries to come.

So is that book in Mario Sunshine supposed to be teaser/nod to Galaxy or what?

That's interesting. If Pokemon came out in the early 90s like that 1990 document, I'd probably be into it.

Honest question: why? Red/Green were still pretty similar to these documents.

By the time Pokemon finally did come out I was in high school and it didn't interest me. If it came out earlier I probably would've been all over it as a kid since I loved my Gameboy in the early 90s.
