To be fair, I only really watched the first few seasons [pre-cancellation] and didn't really watch more than a few episodes after it came back. Also, I was a teenager.

randomly seeing a really really early episode where it's so heavily weighted to be that parody of family sitcoms, including having family moments and "normal" plotlines where Peter tries to help Meg with school or something, with some absurdities around the edges is really kinda a culture shock based on what you expect to see
