So when Target had the ST funk is I would receive tons of calls with only the sentence being “Do you have so and so”.

I’d be like wtf?

Then would come the audible “I’m talking to a filthy normie” sigh.

Which was much better then people yelling at me for not having their ugly toy that they will do nothing cool with.

I'm not qualified to talk about Kiss (though it's worth mentioning they tried to cash in on disco in the 70s) but the Misfits were always a punk band for kids in the suburbs who could relate to meatheads whose brains had been poisoned by decades of pop culture consumption but not, say, upstanding Scottish lads singing "fuck the USA." If early Aughts Hot Topic had existed in 1984 it absolutely would have been full of Misfits merch.

But then we got to the point where we had all the Pez disepnsers you could easily buy. So we moved onto Funko figures as our joke gift now. There's a shop in town that sells nothing but funko pop figures. I have no idea how in the world they stay in business. When the wife and I buy something it's always what's on sale and a gag. Can't imagine people pre-ordering these things. That's insane.
