I always found them better than the sum of their parts. Slash had many different projects over the years which were meddling at best. Same goes for Axl, Duff and Izzy. That combination works because all their ideas can bounce off each other, filter out some of the worst aspects and build from there, with the added bonus of them trying to kill each other during the process.

Ill admit I love Chinese Democracy, for me without axls voice there is no GnR but you probably have a good point
