Yay
+ Reached a financial milestone that I have been looking forward to for years. Even with the stock market fluctuations, I'm probably at the point where I can consider things to be at a comfortable level.
+ Spent more time with a girlfriend than hookups. Been with my current girlfriend for over half a year.
Nay
- Probably the most boring year I've had in a while. I've settled into a rut, which isn't bad but I don't think is good in the long run either. I need to shake some things up for 2019.
- Deleted a large porn collection and deleted all of my porn bookmarks. An end of an era.
- My dog is getting older. No health problems yet fortunately but he is slowing down and starting to get some gray hairs on him. A sign that all of us are going to die but not sure how I'm going to react/handle to my dog dying. A part of life, I guess.
Gay
~ Nothing. It was a pretty straight year, at least for me
Overall a pretty flat year, probably the first non-yay year in a while yet nothing too dire either. How about you?
-
2018 is the year of the horse
-
Nay. Been probably the worst year on record for me.
Lots of great individual moments though, and I still have a lot to be happy about, but yeah. Objective suckage.
-
Yay for multiple reasons. feels good man :-[
-
Yay
+ Got to finally go on a vacation I've dreamed about since I was little
+ Couldn't be any more in love with the girl I started dating in 2017
+ Was made to lead a few pretty important projects at work
Nay
- Feel like I completely drifted apart from my high school friends who were long my biggest social group. They're all married, with kids, Republican Trump supporters... I can't relate whatsoever anymore.
- Been a pretty bland year as far as electronic music goes, too much sounds 'perfunctory'
Gay
Nothing this year.
-
+ Cleared up some old debt
+ Lost a lot of weight, haven't been this slim in almost 4 years
+ Bought a car
+ Moved to a new place and really liking it
+ Very happy in my marriage and feeling even better than last year
- Overall a bit of a dull year for me. No fun stories or vacations stick out
- Still not that gay of a year for me
-
There is one late entry to the "yay" side that almost redeems things, at least.
January 9, 2014 - Re: 2014 New Year's Resolutions (http://www.thebore.com/forum/index.php?topic=41347.msg1807479#msg1807479)

December 16, 2015 - Re: 2015: yay, nay, or gay? (http://www.thebore.com/forum/index.php?topic=43888.msg2111055#msg2111055)
- Didn't pick up piano even though I looked up teachers as early as February. :beli
December 31, 2015 - Re: What's yer New Year's resolutions, fegs? (http://www.thebore.com/forum/index.php?topic=43919.msg2114593#msg2114593)
- At least start taking piano lessons. (Ideally stick with them, but we'll see.)
December 31, 2016 - Re: 2017 New Year's Resolutions (http://www.thebore.com/forum/index.php?topic=44708.msg2217320)
January to June
- Start piano lessons.
May 30, 2017 - Re: Please share your triumph of the day (http://www.thebore.com/forum/index.php?topic=42453.msg2258040#msg2258040)
I bought a keyboard two years ago and have been trying to save up for lessons but other things always take that money away. :goty2
Pretty much my lifelong dream to learn to play piano well.
December 18, 2017 - Re: 2017: yay, nay, or gay? (http://www.thebore.com/forum/index.php?topic=45318.msg2354570#msg2354570)
Nay:
- Still haven't started piano lessons. 🎹
October 18, 2018 - Re: minor inconviences that are not struggles (http://www.thebore.com/forum/index.php?topic=43180.msg2516276#msg2516276)
On a side note that may be beneficial after that last GIF I posted: I realized that despite planning to start learning piano 7 years ago, I'm still at least 2 years away from being able to attend consistent lessons. :(
I just don't have the focus right now.

Learning left hand scares me, but in a good way.

Discovered my old man has been growing weed in his shed.
Nay
Bought a new van which turned out to be an unreliable piece of shit. The brakes are dodgy as fuck and I've had to replace the lights which kept turning off at night. There's also a dent by the driver's side cos I kick the bastard every time I get out of it. Sometimes I fantasize about taking it into a dark field and torching it.
-

2018 is the year of the horse
Because it was all nays. This was funny guys.
-
4th worst year of my life after 2017, 2006 and 2009.
However, it was still a lot better than 2017, and there's reason for optimism about next year. Some good developments over the last few months.
Same for me, nephew. While not a great year, at least it wasnt 2017 where I was constantly worried about dying. So that's good and cool. In conclusion 2017 was semi gay.
-
Yay:
Some damn good video games and music released this year
Feel like I'm finally expanding my taste in film
Nay:
As I get closer to 30, I realize my life is pretty stagnant and things could be far, FAR worse but how long can this last?
Fell off the wagon and put on 25 pounds
Only read 1 book this year despite vowing to read more and even filling up my Kindle for prep

For the last 3 years or so I had really been down on myself. Like I really hated who I had become for some reason. But lately I sorta realized that I’m still the same person I always was, and maybe things aren’t so bad.
-
Yay.
Year was great, best in.....a while.
Relationship going well, moved and bought a new house, moved in together, and became
Instant stepfather to two kids. Rest of family doing well. Cut down on booze, healthy in general.

Nay:
- Grandpa passed away, I still cry about it sometimes. :'(
- Grandma shows clear signs of dementia, and it’s getting pretty bad.
- My dad is more deadbeat than ever, to the point where we don’t talk anymore.
- Said I was gonna go to the gym weekly, but I cannot budget it yet.
- Even tho I’m not ready for anything romantic, I’m too shy to put myself out there and get some dick. My hymen probably grew back since it’s been like 2 years.

Saw Nina Kraviz, Amelie Lens, Joris Voorn, Radio Slave, Black Madonna, Honey Dijon, Miss Kittin and Jon Hopkins live.
This sounds like a cast list for Ru Paul All Stars
