but re7 rose above the "first person horror walking sim/pt ripoff" i expected it to be so i'm curious to see more on this game.

Since they fixed the main series, I don't mind them doing MP spinoffs. Though Outbreak 3 probably would take too much effort - this clearly will be rehashing models and assets from RE2. Yet even if they build something out of existing elements like this, I would've much prefered something like Mercenaries/Raid mode in a more fleshed out real game (for single- and online play). 4v1 seems like a throwaway gimmick. Didn't Evolve and others all flop - what's the point? :larry

This definitely seems like a stopgap title while they work on 8 and/or 3 Remake for next gen but it could still be good.

I think the latter? All I can find on this is that it's a "brand-new team-based survival horror experience." Where is this "4v1" stuff coming from?

So?

So the v1 hasn't been done in the series. It's generally 4v4 or co-op or (in the case of Outbreak) like 5-6 in a scenario.

so it's like outbreak in that there's abilities for the survivors but the mastermind creates the scenario and can control zombies if they want while setting traps and placing enemy npcs. seems cool, i just rarely have a regular enough schedule to do these kind of games with a team of friends.

A lot of the problem with these games is that the nemesis sucks when a player doesn't control it. And well not everyone wants to be a nemesis, so you have a slippery slope of people not playing the game from that. This may not have that problem.

But a more level focused co-op game ala Outbreak 3 would have been preferable.

REmake2's strengths were in its grounded feel and gore, so they should've kept it on that side of the equation in my opinion (which would've also been closer to Outbreak, probably).

Kind of the other way around.
I doubt many will buy RE3 just to get this, but that was the case with ZoE (though it was actually a cool game), i know I did.

Also they mention Nemesis having more ways to track down Jill, in this one, compared to Tyrant (whatever that means).
