I'm surprised they didn't launch this with a prestige title like RDR2.

Might as well get some bugs out of the way beforehand given that RDR2 is going to require it either way.
-
Yeah, that makes sense.
-
I suppose it's the shitty android port
-
Well it's really really barebones haha

Kinda weird these launcher companies can't just hire a team of programmers and say "just copy steam"
-
Didn't they already have that social club shit?
-
cloud saves, already ahead of epic :lol
-
Didn't they already have that social club shit?
Yeah, they've had that at least since LA Noire.
-
This has existed since GTA IV. They made a client for GTA V so they didn't have to sell stuff through other people's stores anymore.
-
If they ever made a Bully 2 that holds up next to the first one I guess I'd install their launcher, but in the meantime meh.

seems the new thing is that they are forcing it on people, even on games purchased in steam. basically the same thing as uplay.
-
It's been in every game since GTA IV, even on Steam. There was just never a full client to log into outside of the games, you did it in game if you wanted to go online.

You misunderstand: Nacho is saying this is mandatory now. GTA4 had Social Club, yes. But you could run it offline/ignore the Social Club client and launch the game directly, no issues.
Apparently this is going to be "launch through Steam->Client runs" like Uplay/Ubisoft titles.

butt saves, already ahead of epic :lol
EGS has butt saves.*
(That is apparently error prone and deletes saves lol)
*Only for less than 5 titles.
Doesn't make it any less pathetic, Spytious.
-
Good ol' cloud-to-butt
-
Didn't they already have that social club shit?
Yeah, this seems to be more of a reshuffle of that one.
Also why the fuck is GTAV nearly 90GB now? I just wanted to play the single player again, but i have to download tens of GBs of pointless multiplayer expansions i won't even touch?
Pirates stay winning. :-\

Looks like 2004 shit? Or like worse?
-
GTA SA on PC is a mobile port so looking like shit isn't too surprising. there's mods to fix all that (and put back the original music) though.

It didn't look great in 2004 already.
GTAIV was their first impressive-looking game (though art direction was not to everyone's taste).
-
Sorry, I meant like the game they included with the launcher. So they uploaded a mobile version of the game instead of the PC one onto the PC? And like it controls and acts differently?
-
Actually I was mistaken. The 360/PS3 version is a mobile port. The PC version is its own thing but had the soundtrack patched out to match the mobile port once it released.
San Andreas Downgrader fixes the soundtrack and some other stuff that was changed over the years (including textures and animations)

Ah, kk. Thanks for the info. I haven't played SA since the mid 00s on my old (and probably dead at this point) PC. Found it strange that they would be using a mobile port since they already had a PC port originally.

Now PC players can be bored to tears as well. :rejoice

:jawalrus
bored to tears by playing a game in the best realized open world ever made..I don't see how my friend
-
Have they even bothered to give GTAIII/VC/SA modern third person shooter aiming controls with a controller or are they still using the ps2 era lock on?
This is why I’ve always preferred the pc versions but sometimes you just want to sit back with a damn gamepad
-
GTA V still defaults to the ridiculous lockon, as does RDR2.
Thanks R* for training these noobs
Even when Saints Row shat all over their aiming system they still can't get it right by default ( free aim works perfectly )
But nah they never updated their old games like that. Probably mods out there for it
-
I still have my pre-hot coffee San Andreas pc disc, and recall trying to play that with a controller being somewhat of a nightmare. Did they not fix that for the rereleases?
-
dunno if it was ever fixed officially but the SA Downgrader mod I posted earlier added great controller support along with all the other fixes.
-
Damn, I’ll have to give that a try if I go back to SA. I never finished it but remember really digging the gang territory stuff, plus the soundtrack was hot. Might need to revisit it.

Gamers with rigs worth 4 times the minimum average salary will soon also be able to enjoy hundreds of 10secs-long skinning cutscenes per playthrough and no amount of RAM will change that :rejoice

Would rather RDR1 honestly. I need to get around to RDR2 one of these days but it felt pretty clunky and didn't really grab me on XBX. Never made it past the first open camp/closest town. :doge
-
that first camp lasted me like 10 hours at least :lol

This sucks because the pc versions have free aiming. There’s no excuse for no free aiming and real controller support inn2019

Free aim in R* games (all of them, including Max Payne 3) is kind of shit on a controller, the sensitivity is honestly just off, either too high or too low, but never right.
Their problem is that they "correct" this by implementing lock on aim, instead of having decent acceleration/smoothing on the thumb stick, or at least an aim assist without ridiculous snap.
I play Division 2 with a controller on PC, and with some aim assist, the game plays just fine, i can't do head shots as fast as i would be able to with a mouse, but it doesn't feel like i'm fighting the controls every time i aim (and it does have a bit of a snap on target, but it's not super noticeable/distracting).
RDR2 was still one my favorite games of the last decade, but that aiming is shit, and it's not just a matter of them defaulting you to lock on aim.
Maybe with a mouse it'll be better.
-
I guarantee with a mouse it will be better. Their games control SO MUCH better on pc it's not even funny. But like I said, sometimes you don't want to play kbm. I just have no desire to play GTA on kbm these days despite being the superior method.
