What's the likelihood that I get stabbed to death and/or see a homeless person's genitals?
-
It depends on how much cash you bring with you.
-
Is this in Oklahoma? You'll be fine. The whites get to sit up front still.
-
I don't know where you live so I guess it's 50/50. Assuming you live in a city where using public transport is seen as normal I'd say you 99.9% good to go. I've never seen a dude's genitals on public transport. Though it did surprise me when I had such a discussion with some of my female friends (yes this is a proper use of the word "female" for those who are obsessed with ERA and always poke jokes about it) how many of them have experienced a dude either showing cock or implying showing cock at least once in their life. Dudes. Duuuuudes. Da fuq.
-
Bring your Switch. People will be so impressed they won't stab you or masturbate near you.
-

No, I'm in Tejas. Taking the DART train from Richardson to downtown Dallas.
-
If it's like here in Minneapolis, it depends a lot on the route. The express bus I take from the suburbs to my job in downtown is really nice - big coach bus with reclining seats, wifi, and plug ins. Contrast that with some of the inner city routes I have to take sometimes and it's like night and day. I used to work 3rd shift and some of the shit I saw while taking a bus home at 3 AM were unreal. Like a guy who got on with a bad full of meat from a grocery store and just sat for a few miles poking holes in the packages and drinking the "blood".
The train we have from downtown to the airport/Mall of America/suburbs is generally ok but I've seen some sketchy stuff on there as well. Since technically you don't have to pay a fare to get on, it's kind of a haven for homeless people. Most of them are ok, they're just sleeping or whatever. But then you get the dumbasses pissing on themselves, smoking, harassing people for change, etc. I've had to step up a few times when some drunk was groping young school kids.

Public transportation is very, very boring.
-
You've never ridden public transit before? lol
Where I live public transit doesn't even exist.

Ah, I see you're a man of rural culture as well.

The Chad European public transport
- Free WiFi, power outlets and USB
- Comfy seats
- Clean windows you can open yourself
- One train every 15 - 30 minutes to every destination
- New near silent electric trains
- Literally hundreds of female students you can chat with
- Hot MILF train conductor scanning your ticket pass
The virgin US transport
- Free homeless cum stains, stabbings and rats
- Broken seats
- Hazardous windows that can't open
- One train every 3 hours, assuming it didn't break
- Trains probably bought by Rudy Giuliani in the 80's to launder cocaine profits
- Drug dealers, burglars, shoplifters, cornpop and smelly old people to avoid
- Fat Larry who just got out of rehab after fighting in Iraq checks your piss soaked tickets
-
Wow, I got stuck behind a bus today, stay safe
-
Earnest answer, you’ll be fine, everyone just sits and stares at a phone or something to avoid having to interact with the guy talking to himself loudly
-
I scouted the station near the hotel I'm staying at and most of the people on the train were office workers and tourists, so I'm probably okay. I'll post pictures tomorrow evening if anything of note happens.
-
seems like a lot of planning just to get to the theater showing joker

Take and post photos regardless

This is really that big of a deal to you?
Kinda but not really. I'm just used to driving everywhere in a car, so the chance to do something different interests me.
-
This is really that big of a deal to you?
For us country bumpkins, yes. We don't do public transport, we drive everywhere. So being able to ride a bus (even if it's slower than a car/private driving) is a novelty. It's a county thing, ya'll (Las Vegans) wouldn't understand™.
-
I don't know, in my experince homeless people aren't that big of a deal beyond walking into the stations.
Chicago here. Then again I only really travel downtown, North side, and the south burbs.
Just mind your own business. Like the number one rule.
-
Despite what Captain Marvel will tell you, public transit in Los Angeles is bad.
Yes, I am being elitist, but I rather not take the bus and it's why I am paying out the ass for personal transportation. (In year 2.5 of a 5 year car loan).
-
be sure to let the train preacher touch your penis, it's good luck!
-
I commuted daily by bus to two different jobs in the past 10 years in Los Angeles. It was a lot more boring than the few times I took the bus to shows in Hollywood during college.
Also I have done a round trip from Tacoma to Los Angeles via Greyhound.
You'll be fine!
-
I commute via public transport every day. Panhandling has gotten so much worse over the years. There are two guys playing a trumpet and an accordion on the train every day. You can’t imagine how loud a trumpet is on a train.
-
This is really that big of a deal to you?
I remember a few years ago my dad traveled somewhere by train like the first time in his life, or at least his adult life in a modern train, and he was really pumped about it lol. I guess he'd been on all other modes of public transport before but not an actual train. Being in his late 60s didn't stop him from being all whoa dude :lol
-
You took that RIDE :heartbeat yet big boi?
-
No, I'm still in my hotel room eating breakfast.
-
Good cause you'll need that energy to explore the train thoroughly
-
If you lie and say it's your birthday they might let you up to the front and you get to blow the whistle.

:gladbron

that reminds me of when my wife went on her first flight, shortly after we started dating. she was obviously very nervous so one of the flight attendants came up and asked if it was her first flight, etc, and then took her to the front to have the captain explain how safe everything was.
right after she went up there, another flight attendant came by, handed me about 10 free drink coupons, and said "this will probably be more helpful". :lol

Having an strong fear of heights, flying on an airplane for the first time was certainly an interesting experience. It actually helped a bit that the person I was sitting next to was totally freaking out.
-
If you go on one or two as you're 8-12 you get used to and bored by it pretty quick. Your ears pop, you lose mobile reception for 2 hours and have to read a fucking book made of real paper and all that shit. Then you get half-way through the book, and wish that there was literally anything else in the world that you could do, and how lucky the people in first class must feel, all spread out on their own seats, and they are eating sushi and drinking mimosas and getting Turkish head massages
-
A work mate was recently telling me about his first time flying. He had a connecting flight and thought he had to collect his bags during his lay over. Couldn’t find his bags, asked for help and then had to go through security again :lol
-
Nothing happened. Everyone just stared silently at their phones. Didn't even see anybody that looked homeless.
Anyway, here are two pictures I took:

The first time I flew was with a GF to the Bahamas. We had to land in Ft Lauderdale first and then take a small plane over to the island.
As we were descending in Ft. Laud, the pilot had to make 2-3 giant circles to get into the right landing window. It might've taken 10 extra minutes. But the plane was right at the altitude where your ears pop. My body interpreted this sensation like someone was pushing a needle into my head. The pain felt excruciating and I was having an anxiety attack because I couldn't get any relief. I'm chomping on gum, I'm pushing on my ears, I'm doing that thing where you try to "push air" through your ears. Nothing worked.
What made matters worse is I'm scanning all the seats around me, looking for signs of other people struggling and the people seemed fine. Even an 8 year old that was across the aisle ... he's just sitting there chilling.
Never had that experience again in all the flights I made after.

"What's with the nervous white dude with the intense stare who looks like he's never rode the train before. Hope he's not going to that Joker movie." All other passengers

I ride public transportation every day. I take the Chuo-Line in Tokyo, which is the one you'll see first if you search YouTube for "Tokyo rush hour train." It's so crowded that the pressure of another passenger against me once powered off my phone while it was in my pocket. Someone else's ass pressed my phone's buttons.
-
In my head Great Rumbler was always a train guy
-
Someone else's ass pressed my phone's buttons.
But what about someones dick in your ass? Did you get sexy Japanese train-time action? :doge

NGL, I've had to tell people to stop rubbing my ass. If we're stuck together, there's nothing to be done about it, but quit fucking moving around. :maf
