Do you prefer headsets, full 5.1, or a modest soundbar setup?
I actually use TV speakers lulz. I know, I know. But with BF coming up, I'm thinking about upgrading my sound setup. My only issue with headsets is aren't they console-specific? I'm a multi-platform gamer.
I also don't want to deal with a traditional speaker set up. Those Sonos things look good, although pricey. I've heard a Sonos HT setup and it's pretty good. Plus, no annoying wire management and no need for a receiver.

You use the TV speakers? The ones on mine are so bad you can barely hear anything out of them.
I use a soundbar with the TV for console vidya. Have some nice Razer speakers and a wireless headset that does simulated surround sound for PC gaming.

100% Switch handheld mode

Is a Sonos setup lag free? I'm sure the TV bar is, but I'm not sure about the other wireless speakers in such a setup.

They all connect to each other using their own wireless standard.
No idea about lag, though. But they have home theatre options--subwoofer and support for satellites.

I often play without sound so I can hear my kids. If I'm alone I'll either use my music stereo, PC speakers, or one of many headsets depending on which system I'm playing.
Sonos speakers are really convenient. I have three of them in my house and I could see myself getting another one or two soon. I have only used them for music though so I can't comment about lag.

I have a 5.1 logitech setup, but at this point it's kind of old and broken. So looking for something new, probably just standard two speakers but of higher quality. Havent even set my logitech speakers up right now (i just moved back in after water damage, and have just a shitty bluetooth speaker set up), as I am hoping for some good deals next friday. Or maybe a new 5.1, but it would have to be wireless. So fucking sick of the wires.
Headset I have denon mh400, and if I need a microphone, I got a sennhesier game one. I know mod mic and all, but could never be bothered.
For my TV I just use the speakers. They are not great, but not completely terrible either. I hardly ever use it much though for console games or movies.

For PC a 5.1 Logitech set-up through the optical out of my Soundblaster Z.
For TV/console a 5.1 Sony set-up.
Might look into Atmos next year to go with my OLED but... my receiver supports 5.1 LCPM over HDMI literally the only Surround format that works for Wii U and now Nintendo Switch because Nintendo does not support any of the Dolby formats.
Support for that is becoming increasingly rare (obviously) so I'm not sure about upgrading :doge
For a headset I have the Corsair VOID 5.1. Which is a pretty nifty wireless headset, only the range is a bit lacking. I can just about move 8 - 12 steps from my desk before it loses the signal.

Headphones, always. I don't even own speakers that are worth a damn (or a TV, for that matter), just some shitty 2.1s that I never even use.

a pair of superlux 668b's
kind of tempted to go full audiophile/hifi mode tho for listening to music

Once I went earbuds, never looked back.

couple monitor audio bookshelfs w nu-force amp on atacama stands in my room, kef floorstanders, monitor audio center + sub running off an old Denon ht receiver in the lounge or a steelseries headset.

I have a canton soundbar (yeah idk wtf the brand is either some euro stuff) which was about 100x better than my TV speakers.
I feel like if you really care about audio when gaming headphones are the way to go though.

Got those Hyperx clouds.
They are pretty good for the price imo.

Sho Nuff hipped me to Zero Audio and Final Audio's earbud line. I'm using the E 2000 plugged into the dualshock for gaming: ear isolation plus buttery bass. Very nice.
