So pretty much a PC port?
The Microsoft Store (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/vanquish/9n15cb2jx4vz?activetab=pivot:overviewtab) has listed a remastered version of Vanquish for Xbox One with a February 18, 2020 release date. It will likely also release for PlayStation 4.
Here is the description of the game from the Microsoft Store:
The hit sci-fi shooter returns. An overpopulated Earth suffocating under limited resources looks to Providence, the solar-powered space colony for support. When Providence is suddenly taken over by a mutinous group and its technology used to devastate cities, it’s up to a specially trained unit of space marines to reclaim the colony.
Equipped with BLADE, the experimental weapon system that can scan, copy, and save up to three existing weapons, space DARPA agent Sam Gideon must infiltrate Providence, defeat legions of future-tech foes, and disable the energy transmitter threatening life on Earth.
Key Features
4K graphics at 60 frames per second available for Xbox One X.
Remastered for the first time on Xbox One.

Need dat sequel!
:bolo
-
Now we just need Binary Domain.
-
It really does sound like they're porting the PC version back to consoles.
The real question: does this mean a sequel is on its way?
-
Who could even do a sequel?
Mikami is busy and his studio is owned by Bethesda.
Platinum is busy with several projects probably.
This is Sega probably just seeing if they can get some money out of an easy port job of a cult game. That will also now be on two digital store fronts for years to come.
-
rah gets it right
-
Fine with me. Vanquish is one game I'm happy to rebuy.

You don't need Mikami, just like you didn't need Kamiya as director for a superior Bayonetta sequel and a gazillion Bayonetta clones.
-
I bought the pc version and never played it but I loved it the first time around on 360. :doge
4K 60FPS sounds sweet though. My pc wishes it could hit those numbers.

God you are just a bad take machine

Still the best TPS I've ever played...

The Microsoft Store has listed a Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th Anniversary Bundle for Xbox One. Standalone Bayonetta and Vanquish listings were also posted. All three have a February 18, 2020 release date. They will likely also release for PlayStation 4.

Yeah I don't think 100% need Mikami either, but my point was most of the creative people you'd want are busy.
While I think it's possible Vanquish 2 would do better now as the game has some cult appreciation behind it and I think the Platinum name is a bit more established. I just think this is instead Sega just getting a quick but hopefully decent PC port of cult titles out there on modern systems and on two digital storefronts that will hopefully carry over into the next rounds. I'm sure Bayo 1 and 2 on PC have made a decent amount of money and you probably get some purchases every sale or anytime some youtuber uploads a "underrated games" video.

Hot take from someone that stanned the game versus Bayo back in the day: Mad World is samey, and boring, and light on content, with overplayed announcers that border on obnoxious, and gets by only on its style and Steve Blum. Additionally the battle system was shallow (especially compared to what you'd expect from Platinum) and the environmental interaction didn't nearly live up to the promise. And fuck the racing levels.
Oh and yes, the game is entirely based around pre-MotionPlus Wii waggle. There are no secondary gameplay systems (IIRC.) Definitely a gem of the generation. ::)
MadWorld is The Conduit of Platinum games.
-
The same team made follow ups in that style, Turtles and Anarchy Reigns, and they were trash. What they haven't made is anything else with Vanquish gameplay :nothot

I'd sacrifice all the Yakuza games into a volcano, for a Binary Domain 2.
-
Is Binary Domain any good then
-
One of your teammates is a robot with a French accent. You tell me.
Pretty standard third-person shooter outside of a few gimmicks. Enemies come apart as you shoot them. Big bosses. Story is batshit. And you can give your teammates orders via voice commands (and buttons, mercifully). What you say and how often you talk to them influences the ending you get.
-
The main thing about BD is that shooting those robots was fun, 'cause the fell apart, and lost functionalities depending on where you shot them.
Kind of a simplified version of RE2 remake's zombies.
Plus the visual design and the world were kind interesting, and had some cool set pieces.
It didn't reinvent the wheel or anything, it was a cover shooter, but it was very satisfying to play, more than most in the genre.
Too bad the PC port is ass, and just a pain in the ass to run properly.
-
Now we just need Binary Domain.
The only good game from those 3
-
The best part of Binary Domain is where you have to defend one of your squad while he goes off and takes a dump.

This should be a quote on the box.
-
Unless Vanquish 2 is "assassinate Madam President and install Grandpa Communist so FALGSC means we don't do a Vanquish 3" as the main-plot, ending: Not interested. It really doesn't need a sequel unless they play around with the time-dilation mechanic more.

Now we just need Binary Domain.
Not Platinum but I'd be down. I would swing for MadWorld because A) That game is great but massively overlooked B) There's almost no way to play it nowadays
Too bad it relies heavily on motion controls and changing to control pads inputs would make it way too basic ala No More Heroes: Paradise,
Yeah, I know it's not Platinum, but it is Sega and was another awesome Japanese developed 3rd person shooter. It's easily one of my favorite games from the HD Twins generation. Pretty amazing to see Ryu ga Gotoku Studio tackle such a western-dominant genre. And then totally fuck it up with RGG OF THE END.
Still have my PS3 copy, should see how it's held up. My daughter was born around the time it came out so the majority of my time spent playing it was in the middle of the night while she was sleeping on my chest.

I played BD a couple of years ago and it was freakin awesome. I'm sure its still great!

BD is better then UC3/4 and gears 3+
-
BD is really good.
