This aligns with my interests. I still have my gothic 2 cd’s somewhere but I only played it for like half an hour (I think I had some game crash bug). Think I should give it another shot or just wait for this?

The OG euro jank :rejoice

Apparently it is way trash :( which saddens me because I loved G1, even more than G2.
I mean, it's basically a playable alpha for a game that may not ever actually be made.

I bought Risen 3 in solidarity :doge

I never did get around to playing that one very much.

This thing violently repelled me. If this is indicative of anything then I don't want them to finish this. "Worst. prison. ever" indeed. :donot
The one good thing I can say is that the scale feels right. The elevator and surrounding support is appropriately sized. It's probably too expensive for an area you'll never return to, but it's a solid looking structure. That's it. Everything else is bad. I didn't leave the area, I turned it off and uninstalled.
Which brings me to my little conspiracy theory: This was not conceived as a teaser. It couldn't have been, it's not good enough to use for advertising. No, this is a jumped up deliverable put out as a last ditch effort to save the project.
Complete asspull on my part, but that's what it feels like..

missed oppertunity to call it GOTHICC

Me either, I was janked out after Risen 2. I liked the pirate theme and the bright landscapes, made a nice change.

Elex was a fun enough jank adventure even if the game completely fucking ignores the possibilities of the jet pack after the very first tutorial “dungeon”. High hopes for Elex 2 if they’re ever allowed to make it.
Have friends who worship Gothic 1 and 2 that have had extremely negative things to say about this. Not sure why they’d go the route of a remake instead of just making a new game called Gothic.
