Baby yoda can and does carry the show:hitler
6 episodes in.RLM is right, Star Wars is a fluke and The Empire Strikes Back is the lynchpin that holds the thing together.
This thing has amazing production values, cgi and practical effects are among the best i've seen in a tv show... and it's like watching paint dry, WTF.
I'll refrain from further comments until i'm done with the last 2 episodes, but i'm starting to think that Star Wars is cursed.
EDIT: Yeah, Baby Yoda is cute af, but you can't carry a show just with that.
I kinda feel bad for Disney at this point, they're still trying to figure out what Star Wars is and the answer is staring them right in the face.I mean, Mandalorian (so far) is boring as shit because there are no characters, and the only one (Mando) is a boring cardboard with invincible armor (plz don't steal!) that does nothing but walk around and be a moron.

Star Wars only ever existed in George Lucas's head. There's no rules and thus everyone has their own intreperation of Star Wars and what it is.
And none of that matches what George had in mind as he wanted to create drama not action or adventure. So what Disney gets is various interpretations of Star Wars from different film makers.
From The Mandalorian to The Last Jedi, no matter how much they look for something that connects it all, there simply is no connection.
George however, was also great at pretending he had Star Wars completely mapped out and it all made sense.
All he did with the prequels was to go back in time and fill in the plot holes and missing lore but by doing so the whole thing makes even less sense.
And once he found out how lucky he had been he just said: "Oh well, this doesn't have to make sense as I'm making movies for chlidren"
Rian Johnson deserves some credit for being the first director they hired to figure this out.
He went as far as to claim in the movie itself that the 'Star Wars' were a racket and the Jedi order was a fraud.
Favreau decided to create his own lore and story within the Star Wars universe and that works surprisingly well.
I kinda feel bad for Disney at this point, they're still trying to figure out what Star Wars is and the answer is staring them right in the face.
SW is a fluke? Even with two mediocre followup trilogies, it's a massive franchise still. It's not a Pokemon or MCU, but it's a huge moneymaker overall.Except it doesn't do anything beside show some cool creatures, this is exactly the problem.
Honestly, I think the biggest issue with it is that fans expect too much from space wizards. This is why I think this show is the best distillation of the universe and property. It stays in lane and doesn't try to be anything more than that.
ANH was good but it was the right product at the right time.6 episodes in.RLM is right, Star Wars is a fluke and The Empire Strikes Back is the lynchpin that holds the thing together.

Trying to torrent the whole thing bundled up but looks like it’s gonna take forever. Probably wayyy faster to do individual episodes but I’m too lazy :stahpThe only reliable, non-registry required s1 version I could find has the bottom 20% of the image corrupted. Watchable, but still a distracting PITA.
Just finished episode 1. I liked it. It's Star Wars. It's also clearly a western, which I'm also down for. I miss Firefly.Trying to torrent the whole thing bundled up but looks like it’s gonna take forever.
