This is where the new conspiracy theory gets good
Here’s where things go beyond just saying things on Twitter. Here’s a video of Jose Altuve telling his teammates not to rip off his jersey after the home run off Aroldis Chapman referenced in one of the Beltran niece tweets. One important note: This happened during the 2019 postseason, not during the 2017 season when the Astros were exposed for cheating.

Never trust a historically bad sports city suddenly getting good: Boston, Houston, et cetera.

Has there been a decade in Boston sports where they haven't had a major 4 sports team not make it to the finals? Let's say from the 50s onward.

I was speaking of the Patriots in the specific.
I'll give the 00s Red Sox a pass since baseball in that era was a competition of who had the better juicers. (i.e. the Lance Armstrong defense)

something was fishy with the rams suddenly being good when they moved to LA :thinking

Ya. They got rid of Mr 500 Jeff Fischer. Lol
-
Oh no, let's be mad directly at the Astros despite this also happening in Boston, LA, and NY.
- salty Dodgers and Yankees fans
Not defending it but the bias and finger pointing exclusively at the Stros is hilarious and blatant. You're just salty mother fuckers.

Ban and kill Altuve!

What the hell does OJ think he’s doing these days? Thinking we want to hear his random opinions on humdrum shit is even more bizarre than his prank show.

Real talk this is killing my love for baseball.
Don't get me wrong, I love the game.
But the big moment the team I've cheered my whole life has an asterisk on it. They won the series on my birthday. It was a really good day.
I look up to so many of the players and now I'm finding myself recoil at these tweets. In 2019 I listened to damn near every game on At Bat. I was planning on going to the season opener and even getting season tickets. Now I don't know. The respect and love I have is gone. While it's just a baseball team, it's one less thing in these harsh times. Its changed my opinions and views of the players. I can't look at them now and respect them. How can I cheer for players like this?
I might have to take a year break from following the Astros after all of this. It might seem extreme but I desperately need to emotionally detach from the situation and see it for what it is.
This has made loving MLB hard this past off season. Don't get me wrong, as I love the game still. Which is exactly why this is all so disappointing. It has stained my view of my team and their treatment of the game. I really hope I can recover any love for them quicky because at this point I'm just even excited for spring or want to see any of their faces.

The fact all of this trolling is being done without one shred of empathy towards Astros fans and what we are dealing with makes me want to further not watch the sport or associate with MLB fans

cheaters never prosper

On r/baseball any time you post and you have an Astros flair now you are downvoted. It doesn't matter what you say.
Fuck baseball fans and also fuck the Astros
-
There are rumors it might not have been just the Astros, the Yankees and Red Sox as well. The Red Sox are especially suspect given they hired the ring leader for all this from the Astros and then promptly won a World Series.
It's definitely a big stain on the sport that people won't forget any time soon.
-
damn cindi you need to chill
-
though let me use this opportunity to remind you that my nats dunked hard on your hack of a team, winning all four games at minute maid park nonetheless :patel

It's almost certainly a case of "everyone was doing it in some form" but these were the ones that were caught. I mean, the Braves GM got a lifetime ban for doing shit that is widely agreed that most of the rest of baseball does, but he was a dick AND lied about it when he got caught. I still don't know why the players aren't getting disciplined for this shit tho, if they're the ones that organized it along with Cora.

Buster Olney was on ESPN Daily today and he said that the Astros probably justified it internally by thinking "everyone is doing it". However he believes that while sure, teams have been stealing signs forever no one was doing it with the level of sophistication the Astros did.

When this entire thing was just starting out it was all rumors and the Astros weren't the only team implicated and people still only latched on to the Astros despite reports of the Red Sox doing similar.

The Red Sox are definitely gonna get investigated very thoroughly considering Alex Cora. The Astros organization has been rubbing the rest of baseball the wrong way since Luhnow took over and they started tanking, so it isn't surprising people are focusing on them. I also don't think things are done being uncovered.
-
Well it's been a hard off season.
I'm honestly in anger phase of my grief.
I know I will get past this but it still really sucks.

That was on base + slugging and only one series :ufup
But for season long numbers here are some fun outliers

I only want the mike trout scandal to be real so I have another reason to laugh at the LA Angels.

I'm a Mariners fan. I'm not trolling. Your team owned my team's ass upon entering the AL West and never let up. You didn't need to cheat. Fuck them. And if you actually needed to cheat to beat my team then fuck them even more.
And I hope every single team that does this gets exposed, investigated and punished. Even my team if they did it.
Boston's day is next with an MLB investigation, Cora just got dumped ahead of time to try and minimize the fallout.
