Best comic/manga reader ever.
The android imitators never really caught up and Apple offers a pretty diverse lineup, from entry-level to pros now.
I rock the basic "iPad" model--not the Air or Pro. I used to own a mini, my first one.
May get an Air to get into drawing again. I know the basic one supports the pencil now, but I have one generation before that one.
Pros look amazing when I play them at the Apple Store, but still too much for my blood, especially since the basic model and the Air support the pencil.

Too old for James

I got the original on launch day and they clapped for me as I left the store.
I was never more proud of myself.
You still have it? Does it still work lol.

my ipad 2 barely works
my ipad pro though :lawd

Do you have the latest pros? Or the previous design?
I may just get a used previous-gen Pro.
Drinky was a big fan of iPads I recall.

previous-gen, works great

We're an android household

I was working my first internship as a web dev when it was announced and we were all laughing at iPad menstruation memes in the office talking about how dumb it was :aweshum

Other than the speed of the device, the look and feel is still 10 years old. The yearly refresh isn't worth the price anymore.

Andy-kun, please shame this endorsement.

Apple hasn't had an innovative idea since Job's died. :kermit

the newest ipad pro with the apple pencil is a great fucking productivity device

Apple doesn’t really want you to upgrade every year. They’ve even resigned that fact with iPhones. iPads get pretty good legacy support.
I wouldn’t say the Pros look ten years old either.
The form factor is basically settled. It’s a mature device.

Bullshit. Just because they support legacy devices for longer than Android doesn't mean they don't want folks buying new shit every year. They'd be thrilled by it, they're a fucking business. Their job is to make money. To make money, they have to get you off "obsolete" shit.

Decent life span for a device that people originally didn't see the point of.

I'm taking bizness, man lol.
If you check their quarterlies and PR, they have convinced their investor that yearly upgrades are no longer happening for most of their customer base.
Sure, they'd love people to upgrade yearly, and some Apple fanatics do, but that is just not happening anywhere in decent numbers, especially with iPads.
It was only with the iPhones that that happened and that is now is gone. And that never really the iPad line. Most customers see iPads and tablets like appliances. You buy once and don't again for a bit.

Sometimes I think I should buy one, but then I remember I have no use for a tablet so I'd probably just draw dicks on it.
