I really like this band. They make me dance and want to rock my head back and forth. If there was one band that ear fucks me with delight that is not Radiohead, it's Queens of the Stone Age...and Muse, and Placebo, and whatever, but Queens rocks.
Appreciate.

Yes, they are fucking great. The best pure rock band the past decade.
And YES, your Youtube link is Go With The Flow FUCK YES
-
Fucking awesome I tell you.

If only Foo Fighters hadn't gone down in quality. Those guys can rock it when they're into it, but I haven't felt their albums. Then again, I haven't heard their new one where there's an acoustic disc and electric disc. Wonder if it's good.

Foo Fighters were good at one point?

It's not good. You're not missing much.
QOTSA FTW
Every single one of their albums rocks. Period. It's usually a fight in my head between Rated R and Songs for the Deaf. Most of the time, I end up picking the album I heard first (like with Muse and Absolution), but Rated R is amazing.
-
I remember when that album came out. I loved all the singles I heard on the radio but never bought the album
Haven't heard anything from them since that album tho. Did they break up, or did Grohl stop working with them (thus taking their star power away)? :-\

Are you fucking kidding me? Listen to the colour and the shape.

I personally think they have gone downhill with each album. I like the self-titled debut the most. The Colour and the Shape is still pretty great though.
-
Their last album and their debut album are the only Foo albums I haven't heard. I've been meaning to check out their first one for a longgg time now.
-
Have you heard all of QOTSA's stuff?
-
Only Songs for the Deaf, unfortunately. I procrastinate when I mean to listen to certain albums for some reason. :-[

And you're making an appreciation thread?!?!? FOR SHAME
I can give you all their albums if you don't mind my pathetic upload speed.
-
Sure thing. Bring it on!
I'm making an appreciation thread because they deserve that much and I was hoping someone would offer upping their other LP's - which I will eventually buy. <3

Cajole, ever heard of Dragon Force?
-
Although I find much of the Foo Fighter's new stuff to be weak, I'll forever respect them for making real rock music most of the time. They play solos. They have dedicated musicians. They put on a killer show.
All they need is better direction. There was a time when there were tons of amazing music producers in rock, but today it seems like those days are over. The Foos can bring real rock back, they just need some help.
And speaking of bringing real rock back...

yea, I have one of their albums.

You can screw this "real" rock crap. I just like rock, no matter what.

QOTSA is amazing.
I strongly suggest "Over the Years and Through the Woods". It's $15 at BB. Amazing concert from London in 2005. The CD has selections from the concert, and then there's a video disc (DVD) which has it in full.

Definitely pick that up though, Himu.
Foo Fighters were good for their self-titled, Colour and the Shape, and There Is Nothing Left to Lose. They've been really shitty ever since, but they do put on a rocking live show (been to one myself).

And I agree with what Diablos said, even though I didn't actually buy it myself. :-[

Did you get the DVD portion, too?

Ah... the audio CD is missing quite a few songs. Not as complete!

Who the hell is that? Two black people in the band nice
Although I'm not feeling his voice; it doesn't match the soul-ness of the music

Dude, it says the name of the band in big letters. I will admit that the singer could be better. I still love the song - enough to check out their album...unfortunately it's not that good.
-
Also, don't forget about Desert Sessions, which is like a QOTSA side project with a bunch of other people that have contributed over the years. Check out this song with PJ Harvey on vocals:

PD, if you can't enjoy THAT voice, I don't know how you could enjoy anyone's.
Someday, I'll get all the Desert Sessions stuff in one way or another.

I just made a fucking awesome Best of QOTSA playlist...
bask in the glory

Amazingly, LTP got the most songs on the playlist, but I definitely feel that album isn't as good as their two before it.
