star wars is dead, most people I know that really enjoyed episode VII now actively avoid watching its media because they know disney is just milking it for the sake of milking it

thrawn is such a goddamn great successor to the stale pale male combo of vader and palpatine. a competent, ruthless fascist using guerilla tactics to bear down on a new republic stretched too thin, and too politically bloated to be effective. the competence and charisma makes them more frustrating as a villain than the gaudy campness of vader; true evil comes in a more alluring package.
