No but really, what did they show? I didn't follow more than 2 minutes.
-
I suggest checking out that free expo game, its like e3 without the stinky nerds
-
Call me lame and to gtfo, but I never found Devolver's showcases to be as entertaining as folks make them out to be.
:yeshrug
-
You're lame gtfo

This publisher has crazy energy, I love it.
Also, that was Suda51 again showing No More Heroes 3 but actually not showing it. :doge
Which is the 3rd(?) time this Summer Games Fest I think?

It's a cute joke stretched out way too long.
Look at the conference man, they showed like 4 games, and it's 50 minutes of skits, what is this, an Angry Joe review?
-
Better than those fake ass conferences which we suffer through like EA or Ubisoft
-
:nope watching conferences
:ohyeah watching trailers in one central location https://2020.e3recap.com/
-
I dont understand why Serious Sam 4 looks so terrible
Because Serious Sam in general is pretty bad. :doge
:nope watching conferences
:nope Not watching Devolver's Conferences
:ohyeah Mommy Mahria Zook/"Nina Struthers." :ohyeah

???
Conferences are all "fake", they're advertisements.
Ironic ads selling real products, are still ads.
-
I know, but at least these people admit its all to sell you shit. With Ubisoft its all the terrible fake gamer talk during their conferences and gameplay in team situations. You know what I mean. Its cringe central
-
1h video
25mins of countdown
30mins of "hey remember how you guys loved our pure 90's edgy teen style 3 years ago? We're gonna keep running this into the ground!"
:snore :boring

I find the "we're above it all" post ironic shit Devolver does extremely cringe worthy as well.
At least with EA and Ubisoft's soulless corporate garbage, i can just tune it out.
Obviously the better thing to do is just wait after they're done and just watch the trailers themselves.
-
Devolver tries to entertain at least, the rest just suck. I guess playing the "TOO SMART TO BE ENTERTAINED" card gets some people erect, more power to you.

Good trailers entertain me.
How are you plaing high horse when the whole skit is about "LUL how shit is the industry, am i right fellow gamers?"

"Am I wrong, Dude?"
-
"LUL how shit is the industry, am i right fellow gamers?"
Where's the lie, though?
Devolver at least is upfront about what they're doing. If you're watching a Devolver "conference"/video for the games you're doing it wrong. They've been upfront for years now that they're doing this to entertain the folks like me that don't give a shit about the industry folks and just want the game announcements.
"So they do that by having a 50 minute 'conference' that only lists 3-4 titles for 5 minutes?"
Yes.meme.
If you want the trailers: They're available right after the show:
https://devolverlandexpo.com
Right there in the Store page. Have at it.
Whining about "so Tired" conferences is exactly why Devolver does what it does (and why it's "running it into the ground.")
I mean shit, the closing Monologue goes into this.
Obviously the better thing to do is just wait after they're done and just watch the trailers themselves.
Oh hey, you answered yourself. Maybe you're not as dumb as you look! :doge
-
I'm never gonna understand this "it's shit on purpose" logic.
And plenty of other shows have already given you what a conference like this needs to be, just about 300 other summer Indie games shows already had just a slide show of trailers with little to nothing in between.
Without the need to have 50 minutes ironic skits :yeshrug.
-
It works better as a sort of comic relief in a week of back to back E3 shows.
With everything spaced in this summer games fest it isn't as effective.
-
never heard of this brand
-
"We're the edgy indie-centric publisher making fun of the state of the industry"
"Also please welcome Shu Yoshida, Geoff Keighley and Phil Spencer"

I like Devolver in the same way I like the movie studio, MAGNET. It's not that I have a high awareness of the studio, but there's a bunch of times I think, "oh, that looks interesting" and it turns out to be from MAGNET.
Same with Devolver.
I don't really believe in the "studio model," it's that whomever is at the studio at that moment is making good choices about with which creators they choose to partner. When I watch a movie, I don't think "I really want to watch something from Paramount" (or even MAGNET), I usually think I'll watch something from a certain director.
