I often discover the lowest temperature a hotel air conditioner will let me go.

It's rarely low enough.

76-80. Basically "room temperature." Anything below 75 is too cold (unless in a server room), anything above 80 is too hot (especially in a server room).

71 F is nice. I need the AC to not be directed at me though. Or else I get a runny nose. Must be the conflict of temperatures hitting my boddy that cause that I guess. Same story in a car. Even if I need to blast the AC I make sure it isn't directed at me directly.

I actually agree with this. I was talking to some friends who live in GA and they were telling stuff like 70 68. I was like WTF. If my air conditioner hits 74 I'm like freezing.

Is air conditioning feeling cooler than non air conditioned? Can't imagine consciously choosing a temp. above 74. Exception would be a fireplace fire in winter...

Not sure. It probably depends on the venting situation and the size of the room and airflow and such. It always does surprise me how much of a difference though that a few degrees makes. Outside I can never tell the difference. But inside I can always tell the difference when the air conditioning is set just 1 or 2 degrees differently.

My ideal temperature is apparently 3~5ºC lower than whatever my wife wants. "Wear something warmer, dear. You can warm by adding layers, but I cannot flay the skin from me to become less hot."

I often discover the lowest temperature a hotel air conditioner will let me go.

Then I google "hotel AC hack" and find out the code that lets you set it lower than it normally allows. :lawd

whenever the building heating system is turned on in november i set the radiators to max and i'm good for the winter
in the summer i just open windows as needed for a nice cross draft whenever it gets too hot

those are really the only settings you get to fuck around with here  :(

I think I'd be fine with 70, but it's kind of wasteful and I have acclimated. generally fine with 74ish during day and we move to 72 to sleep.

When it's 90-100 outside, inside's gotta be 70 or lower.

Mostly lower.

Disgusting.

78 is already too hot.

77 is the highest I'll go.

I can't have sex in that temperature. The absolute worst thing is someone's sweat getting cold on their body.

Some of us like masturbating with ice cold hands and pretend that we are having an erotic journey through the Russian tundra. :hmph

Just whatever you are acclimated to for the most part (plus some variation for preference.)

I grew up sleeping in an underground basement with a Mom who refused to leave the heat on at night even in the dead of winter so I can barely sleep unless it's freezing in a room.

We haven’t had some new #RiotousLore in so long  :rejoice

Have you also never looked up space heaters since the 1970s like my Mom?  lol

They've been safe for decades.

I actually still have the space heater I bought myself back in 1994 lol

That’s what big fire wants you to think :ufup

A lot of people seem to keep their homes at a lower temperature in the summer than they do in the winter.

Air conditioning should just be used to mitigate seriously uncomfortable heat, not to turn your home's climate into some weird mirror image of whatever is going on outside.

Uh, yeah. 80f in an interior is hot as shit. What the fuck is this, winter heat? That's the temp my mom puts her car heater on in the winter while it's cold. Putting that on in your own house is kinda wack and definitely way too hot.

68, down to about 66 when I'm sleeping.
I'm one of those people who will turn the temperature way down and then bundle myself under big blankets/comforters.
