Without this television program we would not have had the 1999 movie adaptation written and directed by Scott Silver.

Without the 1999 movie adaptation it's possible Scott Silver might have had a career. (Is there a kiss of death quite like Stabbing Westward in a 90s movie trailer?)

Instead he was relegated to workmanlike writing jobs on feel-good Dickensian urchin stories like 8 Mile, The Fighter, or X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

This languid state put him in the position to write yet another Academy Award nominated film with oppressed Starsky & Hutch director Todd Phillips that released to much fanfare but has already fallen quite hard from the #discourse.
