Pizza Hut will close up to 300 locations as part of a deal between the Yum Brands chain and its largest U.S. franchisee, NPC International.
NPC will also put its remaining 927 Pizza Hut locations up for sale. The franchisee, which also operates nearly 400 Wendy’s restaurants, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in early July after struggling with its debt burden of roughly $1 billion.
“In the event NPC executes a sale of its Pizza Hut business, Pizza Hut’s focus would be to ensure that new ownership brings to NPC’s Pizza Hut restaurants a strong capital structure, healthy balance sheet, commitment to operational excellence, and a growth mindset,” a Pizza Hut spokesperson said in a statement to CNBC.
NPC’s 1,227 Pizza Hut locations account for a fifth of the chain’s total U.S. footprint.

Replace them all with Jet's Pizza baby
-
They keep changing recipes and ingredients.
One of the most inconsistent chains of all-time imo
they tried going gourmet in 2014 like "you can get a spinach leaf and peruvian cherry peppers on your bottom-of-the-barrel pizza now" :snob
in spite of their weirdness I prefer them over little caesar and dominos
what I'm curious about is, normally when a big chain starts having troubles it's because some bigger chain is eating their lunch and they go out of business and the big companies just get bigger
is that the case here, or could it actually be possible that everyone prefers their local mom and pop pizzas and are completely over the big chain grease soaked nonsense?
or is like gamergate qanon papa johns taking over
-
Their stuffed crust is good, usually I get a craving for it once every year or two, feel like shit immediately after eating it and I’m good for a while.
-
I do actually really enjoy the boneless wings they have. They don’t hold a candle to a real chicken place, but they’re much better than they should be coming from Pizza Hut.
-
I'm mad that they get rid of the triangular canadian bacon slices and replaced them with ham chunks that have a gross smokey flavor.

Seems more like a case of a corporate franchisee loading up on too much debt and then not being able to weather the covid shutdown earlier in the year.

under appreciated medium-large chain: hungry howie's
they have a great gimmick that few others focus on like they do and I salute them

So pricey though :shaq2
Yea, I used to get them a bunch when they were 8 wings for $5. A bit pricier now for sure.
-
I actually liked Pizza Hut pizza in the 90's. But I gotta agree with 21337: They change shit so often it's hard to really be consistent.
The only pizza I like recently is the "Pacific Pan" pizza at Dominos. Otherwise all the chain pizza places are really disappointing.

I’ll leave it to Kevin to explain my thoughts on Pizza Hut:

when it comes to fast food, ignorance is bliss :mjcry
every fast food worker I have ever known has told me horror stories. if it ain't the employees intentionally doing something nasty to the food, it's stuff like roaches and mice, or the soda machine being dirty :trumps
-
No one even delivers to me because I live at a weird address between two cities besides Pizza Hut.
If they close my local pizza hut, I have zero delivery pizza options :'(
And here I was thinking about maybe getting a delivery pizza for the first time in March one of these days.
-
Let's just remember the good old days of Pizza Hut buffets and free personal pan pizzas through Book-It. :mjcry

or the soda machine being dirty :trumps
it's best to assume that every soda machine everywhere is extremely filthy and moldy, too many tubes and enclosed moist spaces
they are never maintained

Pizza Hut hasn’t been good since the mid 1990s. It’s felt like it’s on borrowed time this last decade. Surprised they’re still running. I feel the same way about Godfathers Pizza, which you find once in a great while.
-
You can build something for 75 cents and sell it for $14.99 and still go out of business? Does trump own some of pizza hut or something?

I get bone-in wings, but I agree that they're good. Pizza Hut isn't the greatest pizza, but it's good enough for the price, and our local one actually cooks the pizzas well, unlike some other locations I've gone to. They usually have a deal on the "big dinner box" for $20, which is 2 pizzas, breadsticks, wings, and a 2 liter, so that's good on a lazy family dinner night when I don't feel like cooking.
:mynicca
I'm gonna be sick just looking at that
Dude, you're Filipino. I've eaten way stranger stuff at my in laws place. No balut though.

I worked at a Hardee's in high school and I would go in at 5 am to prep it for opening. When I turned on the lights, you would hear the mice and roaches scurrying. The place thankfully ended up getting shut down for health violations, but it was replaced by a Burger King, which probably isn't any better. It's not just fast food places though, read Kitchen Confidential or watch Kitchen Nightmares (the moral of the sotry is to be nice to your waitstaff)
:ufup
Godfather's pizza is my favorite chain pizza by a wide margin.
They barely exist in Western Washington however.
Mine too, one of my favorite time in high school was going to their lunch buffet. There's only a couple open in the Minneapolis area, but I live a couple of miles from one, so sometimes my wife will bring some home.
Their taco pizza
:whew

I stand corrected. I just got a pizza from Godfather’s and it was as good as I remembered.
Thanks for the correction!
