Post by: naff on August 21, 2020, 05:02:18 PM: I've heard the fin soup tastes more or less like whatever broth it's served with and the fin adds next to nothing. almost flavourless. ive been to a bunch of places that serve it but its one of the few things I wouldn't touch.

100 million sharks killed every year, a majority chunk of that being for fin soup and we're ruining the balance in the ocean because of it. seems very dumb esp considering the soup ain't even good by nearly every account I've read.

I wouldn't eat shark fin but that's because it's a very wasteful practice.

Hmm, not sure if I'd be that into fox meat but I'd give it the ol college try...

I have no desire to eat balut, lutefisk, thousand year egg, birds nest soup. I guess the most 'exotic' I have eaten were fermented stingray (in Osaka), octopus sashimi, beef tripe, and chicken hearts.
