Ok I bought the game folks now I need some Bore homies to play with! Who else has Fall Guys on Steam?

Most of us are probably playing the PS+ freebie. I hope they add cross play at some point.
-
Yeah if anyone has the Steam version lets play together!
-
I got this on PS+ thinking I'd play for like 15 minutes and then didn't put the controller down for hours.

I don't get this game's popularity. But then again I haven't understood multiplayer gaming popularity post-Counterstrike.
Like it's a fun game to play a few times to go through the different stages and try to do well. But once you've done all the stages once or twice, what makes it so great? I got bored of it after a few games and deleted it.
But then games like these sell like 10 million copies. I just chalk stuff like this/Fortnite/PUBG up to being out of touch with the younger generation and what videogames mean to them.
-
Whats more fun than beeing first out of 100 random people?

There's a second season literally revealed yesterday with new maps and skins, and considering the popularity of it (as a stream game and in general) it won't be going away for a while. Enjoy your gacha-filled JRPGs that struggle to thrive

I mean, I have a hard enough time beating 1 person in a 1v1 fighting game, or 8-16 people in a deathmatch FPS shooter. Playing against 99 other people just sounds depressing because the odds of winning are so low. At least in a fighting game you had a decent chance of a win every few matches.

Yeah, I said this stuff is super successful. I just don't get what makes it long-term fun beyond a couple hours.

Fwiw, I liked Tetris 99. But that was mostly because it was Tetris and Tetris is always fun.
I still got bored of Tetris 99 after a few weeks.

Maybe you just have ADHD

Don't we all?

Yeah, but wouldn't that make me like Fall Guys even more? It's all about short bursts of excitement.
My problem with these kind of games is for keeping long-term interest I need to keep seeing new content introduced. That's why single player games as you advance through them and get to new areas, new story, new abilities, etc... are good at keeping interest.
These kind of games the long term is like leveling up for...costumes and cosmetics and I don't really care about that. When I played Fall Guys I literally just used the default guy with zero customization because I don't care about how my avatar looks in a game like this.
-
I've watched some LPs. Seems like the kind of game that I'd feel gets old after 20mins.
-
There is new content being produced. They literally just talked about "Season 2" and the game came out what, a month ago?
I don't find games like this enjoyable as a single player experience but if I had some people on (like Mmarsu's OP asking for steam players) I would have fun talking shit and laughing with them for a night
If this came to Xbox I would consider buying it. It's definitely a game where skill isn't much of a factor and you just can jump in and play (unlike games like Tetris 99, or most Fortnite/BRs)
-
It feels like this game could be a new genre. It really captures that spirit of that old television show Takeshi's Castle.
Building on what Bebpo said, there is a lot of room for improvement and you could add more strategic layers with different character types, in-game power ups (forcing you to take less optimal paths to reach them), branching paths, etc. I also think the game play could be sped up a bit. There are times where the game felt like you're plodding.
I'll be curious to see if there are knockoffs from larger companies and what they do with it.
-
I'm sort of afraid they will get a big bag of money offer from one of the big publishers that has no games like EA that ruins it. :doge
-
I usually play with some friends, but add me and i will invite if we need people

Once you win a few times, the game becomes crack. It's the ultimate "just one more game" amongst my group of friends.

Consistently making it to finals and losing on some fuckery never gets old :doge

i've only won that once, and that was with me and my friend last alive, so i managed to fuck him over.
Had one, where like everyone went out after 30 secs somehow. It only did two full rotations I think. Everyone just too busy grabbing each other lmao
-
Oh man I hate hate the fucking tail grab game HOW DO I LOSE EVERY FUCKING TIM
Rage lol

I think the trick is to sneak it near the end. if you get it too early it's tougher to keep.
I hate the see saw stage, if you are not quick it's just the worst if you are stuck past the front. :maf

Have you guys heard of this new Switch game its pretty fun
-
Gave this a try on PC last week and it's pretty fun but the economy the have with the cosmetics is atrocious. Did get some free stuff through Prime and Game Pass Ultimate
-
So I played a couple of hours with my GF over the weekend. Her on my switch, and me on the PC.
First of all, what kind of shit developer doesnt offer split screen on a party game. Lazy fucks.
I couldnt get my Wii U controller to work on the PC and so I was stuck with keyboard...and holy shit my brain cant handle it. For the tail game, I have to use my left hand to move, while my pinky holds ctrl (or shift?)to grab and my right hand does the camera?
Fuuuuuuck youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
We had fun, but I sucked. She sucks at games in general so it works out.
Of the 20-30 or so times we played, we got past round 1 maybe 3 times total. The first time, we got the fruit game on round 2 but neither of us knew what to do so we died immediately. Woops.
Yesterday I played on the Switch and on my very first game with the controller I won everything and got 1st place
:miyamoto
Fuck PCs.
Game is fun. But I dont ee it having the replay value of the GOATs
-
Just get a Dualshock 4 and hook that up to your pc brah!

Im sure u can get a second hand controller cheaper
Also good for all other pc games
-
all other pc games
:yuck :yuck :yuck :yuck :yuck :yuck :yuck :yuck
PC gaming should only exist for one genre, and that genre is building things by clicking on places with a mouse. Cities Skyline, Planet Coaster, Planet Zoo etc.
-
But most if not all games are better on pc with a controller hooked up to your big ass tv
-
So Ive gotten somewhat used to playing the game on PC. The secret was only using the walk forward button, and never left/right/back, and using the mouse for camera. I also make the mouse buttons the dive and grab.
Ive started having Fall Guys related dreams.
In the one last night, I was at a normal party doing normal things, but everyone had to collect sponges and the team with the least sponges at the end would be eliminated
:existential
-
I was at a normal party doing normal things,
You could’ve just said that and we would’ve known it was a dream :teehee
-
So they have extreme squad mode going on right now.
You fall, you dont respawn, its over.
Started with some randoms. Two of them bailed after round 2 because they dont understand you move forward as a team.
So its me and one other against a bunch of full squads.
Ladies and gentlemen, we got them.

they should let you shoot people in this game. :maf :maf

Would be cool if there was a mode where you could drop or throw banana peels
-
Or maybe throw turtle shells.
-
New season started with 7 or 8 new levels
Theyre actually pretty hard
-
I'm still having a great time not sure what the problem is
