Title: Who here has voted already?
Post by: Shostakovich on October 11, 2020, 07:22:53 PM
Just sent my ballot in a couple of days ago. Didn't vote for any judges because I was lazy.

I'm the weirdo who always votes the moment he gets his mail in ballot in prior years but this year nearly all my extended family voted immediately and by mail which is quite unusual if you know these people.

I never trust the white people in this country to do the right thing so who knows how the election will go, but the racist in chief has certainly triggered a level of early anger voting my family has never displayed before.

Voted by mail, September 29.

I did last week. fuck a debate lmao

WHO has any doubts at this point? The false belief that the parties are identical has been laid bare. NO-ONE is going to have their mind changed by a debate. It boggles my fucking mind that ANYONE could be undecided at this point. Either they're an idiot and believe the lies that Cheetoh-tainted Twitler is vomiting on them, or they're ready to go back to actually-right-of-center "Democrat" rule. You know, the one where we actually start getting the deficit addressed, and review tax policy.

I have zero doubts a lot of people are going to end up getting sick with voting, especially at old ass county buildings or schools and shit.

There is no doubt a lot of people are gonna get sick voting which is why I encouraged my family to vote by mail but I also understand the fear of that in some cases and the arbitrary way those things can be tossed nowadays, especially if you are a minority.

I went to the dmv in florida about a month ago to take care of some stuff and was kind of terrified at the prospect. But at least locally I was surprised at how well it was handled regarding masks and distancing.

I would have preferred to vote by mail but we don't have no excuse voting here unless you're over 65

Yeah that sucks. This country is so bizarre with its fifty little fiefdoms with it own little rules. Especially IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC.

Title: Re: Who here has voted already?
Post by: Himu on October 12, 2020, 11:26:59 AM
I don't trust mail in ballots after the summer of USPS dismantling.

They'll also be counted on election day or even after and if a lot of people vote by mail their could be a situation where although Biden wins, it said Trump was winning while counting the ballots people sent. Then he uses this to say it was rigged.

So yeah, voting by mail. After this summer? Why? I don't give a fuck about the pandemic. I voted early during runoff and primary and it was completely empty. I'm voting early and I'm get up at 5 AM to do it.
Title: Re: Who here has voted already?
Post by: Stoney Mason on October 12, 2020, 11:31:18 AM
As a super early option I think its fine which is how I use it since I mailed mine in like September 26. Especially if your state or county tracks the ballots like mine does. But I certainly wouldn't trust the system anywhere close to the election. And the level of disqualifying for this stuff that has amped up with voter suppression efforts is disgusting. So its definitely a mixed bag.
Title: Re: Who here has voted already?

Voting a mail ballot super early is definitely the way to go.

I sent in my ballot last Friday, and I went the normie route of voting for Biden.

I did vote for judges, but didn't do research. Figured the best way was to vote against anybody who had assistant DA as part of their title. If you are in California, vote against prop 22. Don't let uber and lyft make up their own category of employees, wtf.

My ballot should be here by the weekend, King County (where Seattle is) doesn't send them out until mid week. There's a ballot drop box at the community center at the lake, so I'll walk over and drop it off the same day.

The post office was closer to any drop off box the county had. I could have also waited for early voting and drop it off there (CA always has a drop off box with every election office), but I didn't want to keep my ballot for two weeks. The postal service haven't seen any large delays here. I figured the three or so weeks before the election should be enough time.

Long line went into the street.

But you can vote at any poll in Harris County and I'm no dummy, so I googled a list of polling locations and found a secluded one no one would go to because they don't know about it 5-10 minutes away, and voted with no line. Got in and out in 5 minutes.

So you're going to punt to whether or not the victim is credit worthy enough for a bail bond? Literally no other country on Earth does this insanity except for the Philippines. It punishes the poor and it's actually a huge reason we have so many people in our jails.

The Democratic Party has sent me twelve notices about needing to vote since the second week of September. They finally stopped sending the multi-page mail-in ballot applications a couple weeks ago and now just send a one sheet reminder every three days or so.

You actually have until five days before the election to register for a mail-in ballot but I guess they've moved me into the "vote in person" pile or are trying to save money.

I've not gotten one piece of election mail from the Republicans. (Democrats have also sent five or six flyers, two included Biden, but they've been mostly for Gary Peters.) Thanks "Rocky"!
