I was around 19-20- some friends had found the Gaming-Age forum and had been telling me about it for a year or so, but I held off and stayed on Usenet newsgroups for a while, lol. Started posting there in 2000 or 2001 and have been on various splinterboards ever since. Pretty crazy.
Pouring one out for the good ol' days, pre-NeoGAF, when that forum was fun.

Bork, where did you post on USENET? I was a regular on the pro-wrestling subs and howard stern subs.

Just video game subs like rec.games.video and alt.games, IIRC.

I've been posting on game forums since I was 13. I'm 33 now. :existential

My first forum experience was on a sonic fan forum, talking about vidya with furries that were, looking back, grown adults. :lol
-
A Sonic fan forum? :jeanluc
My first forum experience was a much more dignified Earthbound fan forum.
-
First place I posted was Rumble City, part of the NURB family of gaming forums [along with Blast City and Shock City]

ign boards, then gamers.com forums when egm had their messageboard there :pimp
they allowed users to make their own boards and there was lots of fun with that :heart

I don’t regret never knowing anything about NeoGAF, but I would be unhappier if you guys weren’t in my life.

I started posting on neogaf back in the dreamcast days. So around 2000 or so.

I remember a few years back, Mama Robotnik had one of those threads where he was posting a bunch of embarrassing old Usenet posts about old console wars in a "the more things change, the more they stay the same" way... and an anti-N64 troll post I made when I was like 15 was in there :P
