At least they used the non-binary character.

Thought this was to be about the oft-rumored remake of the original 3 games... a meaningless teaser that says... "OH WE'RE WORKING ON MORE MASS EFFECT" is ehhh, like no shit. I know Andromeda was a bit of a bomb but are people really surprised that there will be another ME?

The remake has already been confirmed

Because it was crappy though.
The idea of uncharted worlds and a blank slate was actually a good one, but in Andromeda they recycled races from old Mass Effect and did a mediocre game to boot.
If the only idea here is "at least we got your waifus back!" they're gonna shit the bed again.

The teaser has me hyped a bit but I wonder when this will see the light of day.
When you look at something like Cyberpunk that was announced 8 years ago and released this year, you have to wonder if EA will:
A) Cook this long enough so it's a good game
B) Is able to match the quality of competing products in a shorter timeframe

Although I must say, I would prefer a more guided ~40 hour experience like Mass Effect 1 + 2 + 3. With branching paths, side content and season DLC as opposed to another half baked 150 hour open world grind fest.
I really liked Andromeda when I finally got to play it though because there aren't many games that do the same kind of universe building and gameplay mix but overall the game was just too big with not enough variety.
The game lacked the polish, fidelity and finesse that I'm seeing in Cyberpunk now.

Overall they should just focus on telling a good story in this universe and not try to make 'the biggest game ever' again.
Take a lesson from Respawn.

As one of the stupid marks that was excited for Andromeda, this teaser is bullshit and makes me sad.

Current BioWare has a cycle. Protracted pre-production, poor leadership which leads to lack of focus and infighting about the direction of the game, project restarted, infighting, restart...Papa EA, pistol in hand, eventually knocks on the door for an update. Papa EA is disappointed with lack of progress. Mandates target window for release of new game. BioWare shits out game with about 18 months of actual dev time.

Rinse, repeat.

It happened with Andromeda, Anthem and internally Dragon Age 4 has been scrapped and restarted several times. EA sux and BioWare is dead. Double dead now that Casey Hudson and Darrah left.

I didn’t mind andromeda, yeah the story was wack and the characters were lame and it was buggy as shit at launch, but the gameplay was fun enough for me to finish it :trumps

Even if it was technically flawless it would have been a 3/5 tho.

If EA/Bioware had continued to support Andromeda with patches and DLC, I would feel way more positively about it. But they put out a few patches to fix the worst glitches and then cut bait. If that's how they're going to treat their fans and their flagship franchise, I got no time for them.

Andromeda was mediocre but it wasn't terrible, pretty sure I defended the game quite a bit on here. The combat was solid and I played a lot of the multiplayer. The core story had potential.

But everything was hamstrung by the year and a half dev time. The characters were undercooked. The dialogue was bad. The play areas were bland with not a lot to do. The sidequests were collectathons with little payoff. The main missions had terrible pacing without any flow to them. I assumed the 5+ years they worked on the game were building grand alien worlds, fun characters and interesting combat scenarios. Instead there was a lot of starting and stopping with several core concepts ripped out and time ultimately wasted on ideas never brought to fruition.
