So it's Christmas 2020
I have no Christmas vibes not even when I listen to this:

The streets are empty, stores are closed, it's raining, foggy and last night there was a stabbing in the street apparently.
I sleep through everything so I didn't hear any of the sirens or the commotion outside. But that's the second stabbing this week in this otherwise quiet coastal town.
If plans don't change I'll have dinner with my parents tommorow, bought them some presents as well.
My brother couldn't take a flight from Canada so he is not here for the holidays.
2nd Christmas day I might hang out with a friend and watch some movies kinda depends on how tired he is after his night shifts.
Otherwise I'll just continue to explore Night City or do a few more rounds of holiday Nuketown. 8)
I also have some TV shows like The Mandalorian and 3 more seasons of VEEP on deck.

Talking with family on the phone, going to go see my friends outside for a bit, then watching Wonder Woman online with a friend.

Small family gathering [6-7] for Christmas Eve dinner and some games. Breakfast on Christmas Day with my parents, then napping and maybe some vidya.

Bacon pecan cheese log
Garlic and rosemary infused Yukon gold mash
Hasselback butternut squash w/ maple and sage butter
Bacon wrapped pork tenderloin stuffed with airlie red apples and gruyere

Work, we're actually open this year. Fine by me, I hate Christmas and it will be slow so I can pretty much just watch movies all day.

I’m going to be using some of my TP tree.
Seriously though we aren’t going anywhere right now and are going to try and get my 86 year old grandfather on FaceTime somehow tomorrow. We’ve not seen him in so long and it’s been a worry of ours with him living on his own. Tomorrow we’ll hopefully be able to do just that.
Tomorrow’s menu:
Salad
Tossed arugula/kale mix
Pickled Red onion slices
Goat cheese
Candied pecans
sour cherry vinaigrette
Main
Beef Roast week long dry aged.
Baked mashed potatoes (boursin cheese, rosemary butter infusion, roasted garlic, chives, and creme fraiche)
French Verts
Mansrea Bread Butter Buns (like a Hawaiian roll that instead of being sweet is like a butter bomb)
Horsey Sauce (sour cream, kewpie, Atomic horseradish, beaver cream extra hawt horseradish, fresh grated garlic, dried parsley, dash of cayenne.)
Au Jus
Yorkshire Pudding
Desert
Missus’ sousvide vanilla bean cheesecake
House made toppings (Hot fudge, Candied Pecans, Soaked brandy apples/pears, French salt caramel)
Various pie crust pieces (salted pecan brittle with Apple whiskey, Caramel brittle with Peanut Butter whiskey)
I got a tree yesterday by chance while at Homedepot. So we got something better than the TP tree now, it took several hours to get though since it was supposed to be excluded from a sale. Corporate taught that store a lesson yesterday. It’s connected to the internet and bounces to our holiday music. I can even send animated gifs to it.

We had a really great family BBQ on Christmas Eve. I smoked a brisket and a whole bunch of other stuff and then relaxed all day on Christmas Day eating leftovers.

Power's been knocked out. Can't wait for my mom to wake up and freak out that she can't cook the 18 pound roast.

I’m quarantined in the basement of my house with COVID. I was feeling better yesterday so I was hopeful I would be able to at least enjoy some movies and such today but I’m sick as shit again so I imagine I’ll probably call it and go back to bed in a few hours and hope I feel better when I wake up.

That's shit dude. Hope you recover soon. Remember, Christmas is just an arbitrary date and once you are back to health there's nothing stopping you from getting together with your family/friends to eat and drink and celebrate.

Spending time with my fiancee, we're gonna make quick stops at our familys but not go inside or anything due to covid going crazy lately. Right now just chilling with the Yule Log on, and a big pot of homemade chicken soup simmering. Tonight we're gonna go to Brooklyn and drive around looking at the Christmas lights.
