People hold celebrities in a different view. To them they're kind of a race of super people who never feel real emotions like we do. In that way, it's okay to make fun of them, and it's unthinkable that they'd lash out physically or emotionally. Plus add into the fact it's Will Smith, who's cultivated a public image of charisma and wholesomeness.
