Today my roommate let be borrow his Ipod nano and I used it while I was wokroing out. I was on the last lap of m two miles and the Techno Mortal Kombat song came on and it got me pumped to spring the last lap. I figure I need music to help me stay focused and get in shape.
Whats the best Ipod for the money? Should I just go with a nano?
-
Get something flash based. I suggest a sandisk sansa. Ipod sucks.

Ipod
-
If you're looking for a small flash based one, get Sansa. Best bang for your buck in the flash department.

They're cheap, too. Don't pay more for the Ipod name when the nano is a pretty featureless player.
Buy a sansa, then go to emusic.com and get 25 free songs, then sign up for rhapsody for a free month trial. Just remember to cancel all that shit before your trial period runs out.
Also, take some of the money you save and get some good earbuds or headphones, because all pack-in earbuds suck.

Can I get a sansa at best buy or walmart? And will it work with my mac?
And what about this one
http://www.sandisk.com/Products/Item(1934)-SDMX5-2048-Sansa_c150_MP3_Player_2GB.aspx (http://www.sandisk.com/Products/Item(1934)-SDMX5-2048-Sansa_c150_MP3_Player_2GB.aspx)
Do I get the free songs with that one?
-
Yes, Yes, and Yes.
And the emusic 25 free songs is just an all-around promotional deal, not sansa-specific.
The c150 is harder to find now, since they're phasing those models out. Try these http://www.sandisk.com/Products/Catalog(1199)-SanDisk_Sansa_c200_Series_MP3_Players.aspx They have microSD slots for memory expansion.

i ordered the sansa e250 2G last friday.. im pretty hyped for it :) <3<3

If you want an ugly piece of shit mp3 player, get a Sansa.
Get anything without the words apple or ipod and you should be fine.
-
Whatever you get you're gonna need some serious pump up music!! :punch
May I recommend:

I have a Creative Zen Nano Plus 1GB that I'm in love with. It's got a mic and FM tuner and shit.
My sister has a Creative Muvo v100 2GB. Seems pretty nice as well, and it's also cheap. Missing the FM tuner though, I think.

I was on the eliptical amchine for an hour today. 500 calaroies burned from that alone :punch
I also ran two miles, and worked on my upper body.
How am I going to keep all the ladies off me this summer? :gun

Walk around with a dildo up your butt, talk with a lisp, wear really tight pink pants and wear eye makeup.

I also recommend the Creative Zen Nano Plus. I have one of those as a work mp3 player, since it can take a lot of abuse.
If you buy an Ipod shuffle, you are basically paying $80 for a 1GB flash card.
-
Another nice thing about the Nano Plus is that it comes in a bunch of colors (some are priced terribly, though).
I got my 1GB model for $65 last year. I'm betting you can get it cheaper now. Of course, the 1GB Muvo v100 has the same features sans the radio for $50 from Wal Mart (and it lacks the exercise armstrap that comes with the Nano Plus).

An hdd based player is more likely to break when moved constantly. Flash based players have no moving parts so they should work no matter what. Besides that player looks like its meant more for videos and you would be better off getting a creative zen vision:m for a few dollars more.
