:lol @ next week's preview: "Of course we can put all the people with AIDS on the moon!"
-
Its ok.
-
I was meaning to check this out, gonna torrent now.
-
It's AWESOME. She brought in a homeless person last night and her gay neighbor used karate to defeat him when he went crazy, then she queefed to paralyze him. Then the homeless dude's dead queefing mother ghost queef rocketed into the night sky.
HOW AWESOME IS THAT
-
Wrong. That would be 30 Rock. Or The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman (which I'm sure your scriptwriting ass would find uproarious, William.)
-
Sarah Silverman blows away the tame 30 Rock

Sarah Silverman blows away the tame 30 Rock
I must watch this show now because for you to say something so CRAZY like that you must be on four different kinds of crack.
-
The show is all gross out humor and a lot of it is downright shitty. Silverman is hot, sure, but her schtick is too predictable to make a show out of.
-
It's funny, sure. But...
AD will go down as one of the greatest American television shows in history, I have a gut feeling Sarah Silverman's show won't.
-
robojimbo is correct.

You have never seen 30 Rock if you think it's tame

Yea, I bet I'll watch it and feel the same way as robojimbo.
Willco's description almost led me to stop the download.

The show is pretty funny (though I do wish nowadays shows would go for less toilet humor, ugh), but AD is in a level all its own.

watch out for the bumpaddle!

that's no trick, Michael...
(I honestly got choked up by that fake ending)

Willco is wrong about Sarah Silverman, but AD is the best show like ever.

Who the fuck hasn't heard of or watched AD?
Sarah Silverman of course.

Oh and don't forget FRANKLIN!

Franklin said some things whitey wasn't ready to hear.

"ILLUSIONS, Michael! 'Tricks' are what whores do for money...or candy."
-
Narrator: In an effort to "hip" up his act, Gob had briefly introduced a puppet.
[Gob is acting as a black puppet named Franklin in front of the family]
Gob: [as Franklin] Can I tell you something, my man?
Gob: [as himself] Sure, Franklin.
Gob: [as Franklin] You are one cool
[bleep]
Gob: . Speaking of mothers, let me give that oatmeal some brown sugar.
[the puppet 'kisses' Lucille]
George Sr.: Get off my wife, you bastard.
[strangles Franklin]
Gob: [as Franklin] What's the matter with you?
Gob: [in the present] Franklin said some things Whitey wasn't ready to hear.
Michael: Gob, weren't you also mercilessly beaten outside of a club in Torrance for that act?
Gob: He also said some things that African-American-y wasn't ready to hear either.
-
I miss Gob. :-\
-
George Sr.: Soak the puppet's mouth with ether, and have Franklin give Lucille a kiss to knock her out.
Gob: [as Franklin] I ain't kissin' that ol' bitch.
George Sr.: [starts to choke Franklin] That's my wife, you bastard.
Gob: Dad, that's my wrist.
[as George Sr. chokes Gob]
Gob: Hey, that's his neck.

While it warms my heart to see fellow AD fans up in here, if you're not watching 30 Rock, PLEASE do so before it dies an undeservedly early death.
I'm not saying they're similar shows, but as far as amazing comedy is concerned, 30 Rock is the closest to AD I've seen thus far.
-
AD was so awesome.

I like what this thread has become.

Just watched the first episode of Sarah Silverman. It was basically like an unfunny Jewish woman took a warm dump directly into my mouth.

Watch some of my Gob clips to cheer you up.

TVC's bad taste confirmed.
-
No, dude, this is like SNL-style bad. Predictable, sometimes "shocking" non-sequitors and quirks that haven't been quirky in years. Maybe the second episode is better, but this is Mencia bad.

Phoenix from GAF thinks Mencia is funny. I lost all respect for him.

I chock that one up to being a personality flaw. Apple boys can't be bad in my book. Except Manabyte. Stupid virgin.
-
No way is this as bad as Mencia. You're now completely dead to me.
-
I'm watching Sarah Silverman Program right now and so far it sucks.
-
I'm watching Sarah Silverman Program right now and so far it sucks.
It's filled with non-sequitors, but somehow still manages to be kind of predicatble. The raunch isn't raunchy enough to be funny, and the writing totally lacks any sense of subtlety. I mean, that last part is obviously a choice, but when you're trying to do an in your face vulgar show, you're not going to get to the funny level of raunchy unless you're on cable cable, not basic cable.

You all have horrible taste and don't deserve Arrested Development or Sarah Silverman.
-
I love Arrested Development but absolutely hate this horrible Silverman show. Jewcomedies like this and Andy Miliknockous suck donkey balls.
Give me some Mel Brooks for gods sake.
-
This is an example of Willco being unable to like something that isn't beating him over the head.
-
Bad taste total.
I didn't say if you liked AD, you'd like this - I'm just saying it's the best sitcom since AD. True story. Publications back me up.
This is an example of Willco being unable to like something that isn't beating him over the head.
Huh? I like AD. This is an example of your bad taste!
-
Wait, did Bz just trash Jewish comedy and then say "Give me some Mel Brooks for gods sake?"
I'm sorry Willco, the topic of your bad taste has been stolen by Bz's retardedness.
-
What i'm saying is that the comedy provided by jewish starts today is lacking in greatness in comparison to that of Mel Brooks. Who i enjoy a lot. But as of late in the past few years the comedy coming from people like sarah silverman, and milinocus has sucked.
Thats what i meant to say. Granted it didnt come out right.
-
Isn't Willco suppose to have good taste? I thought that was his "thing", good taste in film/television.
Dude I saw this the other day - it was on late while I was bored, it was annoying. It just wasn't funny...it felt like the girl (Sarah) had ADD and it wasn't even funny, witty, or fuck not even entertaining. I think it would have been good if she would seldomly act out of character as ADD sister, but no she does it all the time, it comes across as just generally annoying with the fodder characters having to play off her...and not good either.
Overall, I thought this was a fucking horrible way to start a show, perhaps it will get better. I think it might have worked if she didn't play fucking stupid ADD sister ALL the time.
-
The only episode I watched was pretty damned mediocre.
-
I like Sarah Silverman, but her show is like literally all the bad parts of "Jesus is Magic." I guess I can see there's something there, but it's missing good direction or something to make it actually work/enjoyable.
-
willco, may i suggest the king of queens and possibly reruns of everybody loves raymond to suit your new comedy acumen
-
I have an unnatural love for "Yes Dear!"
:-[
-
Bad taste total.

I would think "publications" would call The Office the best sitcom since AD.
-
Shit, How I Met Your Mother is funnier than The Sarah Silverman Program.
-
I didn't care for the first episode but the second one, the one about queefing, was pretty good imo. Plus it's great seeing some of the Mr Show cast together again.
-

I dunno, I checked out the second episode just to make sure it wasn't vastly better. The nicest thing I could say about this show is that it would've been the funniest thing ever if I was like, 13.
-

I feel the same way about the show, especially with the overused queef jokes.
-
I don't think you should even bother with gross-out/shock humor unless you can outdo South Park and still have something that's air-able. If I were 13 right now, I'm sure I would feel the same way. If this were something I saw before South Park was around, yeah, probably the best show ever.
-

Wrong.
-
Isn't Willco suppose to have good taste? I thought that was his "thing", good taste in film/television.
Yeah, bad taste is my thing.
Fixed.
-
why have you not put tds on ignore like the rest of the cool kids, willco?
for the record, i consider your love of the sarah silverman program an amusing personal flaw, kinda like how i don't hold a preference for spielberg films against most major critics
-

Yeah, bad taste is my thing.
Fixed.
::)
Dude, you've admitting to liking the Sarah Silverman Program. PD has better taste than you. :rofl
-
The show sucks, but for some reason I still want to bang her. I'm strangely attracted to her.
But I don't know. She probably smells....down there.
-
probably smells like gefeltefish, with a hint of matzo!
-
or queef
*fanbase of sarah silverman show lols*
-
Dude, you've admitting to liking the Sarah Silverman Program.
So did Time Magazine (http://time-blog.com/tuned_in/2007/01/dead_tree_alert_sarah_silverma_1.html), Entertainment Weekly (http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20009618,00.html), The New Yorker (http://www.newyorker.com/critics/television/articles/070205crte_television_friend), The San Francisco Chronicle (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2007/01/31/DDG7KNR7BN1.DTL&type=tvradio), The Hollywood Reporter (http://today.reuters.com/news/articlenews.aspx?type=televisionNews&storyID=2007-02-01T023536Z_01_N31335775_RTRIDST_0_TELEVISION-TELEVISION-SILVERMAN-DC.XML), Variety (http://www2.variety.com/ref.asp?u=AICN&p=1MQT&sid=VE1117932615) and many other publications! Gasp!
PD has better taste than me. :rofl
Fixed again for accuracy!
-
Wow, this is pathetic. Willco running to The New Yorker to back up his shit taste? :rofl
-
Sarah Silverman is great like...30 seconds up to 2 minutes at a time. After that, her shtick is so thin (I LOOK PRETTY AND NICE...BUT I'M REALLY THE DICE MAN!) it's unbearable. Half an hour of that was enough to make me cry. It's worse than Mencia, because it slanders the otherwise good name/visage of Zach Galafanakis
-
Wow, this is pathetic. Willco running to The New Yorker to back up his shit taste? :rofl
No, what's pretty pathetic is that you ignore the other publications!
-

No, what's pretty pathetic is that you ignore the other publications!
So now I have to let publications dictate what's good and bad? ::)
-
No, I'm just saying it's got some critical pull. But of course critics don't matter - I mean, just look at that piece of shit you jizz over called THE DEPARTED.
It was also loved by The New Yorker. I guess we know it's really crap now!
-
Okay, Willco hating on the Departed without even seeing it. You're embarrassing yourself with your terribly shitty taste, sir, and I refuse to continue this conversation. ;)
-
I already did see it... when it was called INTERNAL AFFAIRS :lol
-
I already did see it... when it was called INTERNAL AFFAIRS :lol
You mean Infernal Affairs? ::)
-
OMG A TYPO
I'm sure Internal Affairs was also better than The Departed.
-

What does Galafanakis have to do with this show? You had better not be dragging his good name through this wreck without a reason.
-
I dunno, this show is pretty terrible, but worse than Mencia? :o
