Starts today right after Sean "he's-so-dreamy" Hannity's tv show on fox news.
Here is a preview.

I expected much worse. It's worse than the Daily Show and Colbet, but both of those shows suck too so that's nothing to be ashamed of.
Some of the Obama/drug use jokes were chuckle worthy

:lol :lol
I actually like Colbet.

The only thing that really made me laugh was the Obama Magazine bit because it had a tagline that said, "My Life in Politics: An 18-Month Journey" :lol
The Daily Show used to be pretty awesome, but sometime in the past couple of years, Jon Stewart has had it in his mind to make it a political platform. There's no arguing it skews left and it's so dominated by politics now that it's lost a lot of its charm.
Colbert Report is pretty great, though. He's such a strong parody of the political shows, mixed up with his character's shenanigans (like his Tek Jansen cartoons), that it makes for a great show.
-
The Daily Show is pretty solid, it's just the formula is getting a little stale, Colbert is great though.
-
Meh, it's the same generic shit we've been exposed to for the last 7 years - and obviously not just from Stewart. There comes a time in a man's life when he realizes hey, I know Bush is not that bright (despite managing to beat you guys twice, or at least 1.5 times) and that many Republicans are simply disgusting...now what? What else? Why do I need Stewart to stare at the camera for 10 seconds after showing a soundbyte to create the funny? Bush and Co. can make fools of themselves effortlessly thank you very much.
And Colbert is just annoying. While I've laughed many times over the years at Stewart, I have never laughed at Colbert, nor do I find him funny in the least. Parody? Sarcasm? Who cares, you suck. The act is old and boring now.
-
PD, you think too much.
-
Perhaps. I rarely laugh at things come consider comedy standards. I insult my own intelligence enough, I don't need others to do it for me with juvenile, simplistic "jokes"

Who cares? Many people. His popularity is absurdly high. No one could have expected his rise when the show first aired.

Yea, and the Dixie Chicks are too.
I certainly didn't expect him to get his own ice cream brand though. Oh I want that so bad

lulz trollz
pd, you amply demonstrate why conservatives have no humor
back on topic, has there ever been a funny conservative?

Intentionally?
One could argue Dennis Miller has had his moments.

Dennis Miller was funny sometimes, although it pains me to say that. I can't believe how much he ruined MNF a few years ago :lol
-
not when he became a conservative! his best jokes were rippin' the hypocrisy of the reagan/bush sr administration.
-
Ann Coulter makes me laugh.
The things I would do to her, Drinky. I have such sights to show her!
-
Bush is one of the funniest men to ever live. And Ann Coulter and Bill O'Reilly are always good for laughs
-
Ann Coulter has indeed made some classic trolls.

One of the most important things about humor is the target of the humor. Humor is often used to criticize, so if you believe the target is worthy of criticism you will more likely respond to the humor.

And that's an understatement. I truly don't believe she takes herself seriously. Once she realized she could make certain people wet their pants in anger she took it from there.
The way she sprouts off utterly ridiculous claims in passing is great

and modern conservatives are so strident they even fail in the execution

Does this show actually have any comedy writers working on it? I figure that might have been an important bullet point to address in implementation.
Depends on what you mean by "conservative." Plenty of libertarian comedians, and plenty of "ethnic" comedians who are what we'd call socially-conservative. Add in the fact that there are plenty of American comedians and America tends to skew right politically in comparison to much of the Western world.
