As is common knowledge Google purchased YouTube earlier in 2006. An acquisition cost them 1.65 billion dollars payed to the order of the creators of YouTube.
What bothers me about this is that YouTube doesn't provide any of it's own content. Granted the people who post videos on YouTube don't post under the impression that they're going to be making any money... but should YouTube get 1.65 billion for other peoples content?
Something very shady about YouTube methinks.

Wow you're stupid :lol

Erm. No. They had a good plan and they executed it before the competition. Simple as that.

Youtube is a great time waster.

Wow you're a gargantuan taco douchebag cocksucker.
I know how YouTube works and I'm not saying they should pay every single user for the videos they post. I'm just saying it sucks they get such a pay day for other peoples content. Then there's the fact that so much of the content on youtube is copyrighted material. Do the people who hold the copyrights get a check in the mail?

No. They get to demand that it's taken down.

That's actually not true, Mupepe. A lot of media companies have signed deals with YouTube, as so they didn't spend their entire time taking down copyright material.

Well of course it's not true if they sign an agreement with Youtube. But all copyright holders initially have the right to demand the removal of their content. Now if they let media companies, who signed a deal with youtube, do their bidding for them, that's their fault.
