Title: Heroes is the best goddamn serial on network TV
Post by: Saint Cornelius on February 21, 2007, 11:02:29 AM: ...fuck Lost, fuck 24... fuck Bab5 even, Heroes is the best motherfucking, tittyfucking serial to ever be broadcast on Network television (note: it still ain't fucking with HBO's or Showtime's serials). How can you not LOVE this shit??

I just watched episode 16, "Unexpected"... and goddamn, way to live up to the title!

If you haven't watched it and are planning to, read no further! Spoliers ahoy!

okay... so that was fucking awesome. ClaireBear stepping to her father! Her father stepping to Nathan! Nathan THROWING THE FUCKING INVISIBLE DODE OFF THE ROOF, THEN FLYING TO CATCH HIM. Sylar getting excited when he's close to the brains! "I can't stand this rap music, but it's the only thing that drowns out the noise". Sylar and Mohinder's travelling road show! Mohinder talking shit about Sylar TO HIS FUCKING FACE AND NOT KNOWING IT! Peter Patrelli channeling Jim Profit (go rent the DVD)! Matt getting so bored with his storyline that he jumped into a better one! Hiro getting so tired of becoming a stereotype that he sends Ando home! The female wi-fi hero! Radioactive man! Matt stepping to the Barett family (but hasn't Claire seen Matt before?)! Nathan stepping to Isaac on some angry Anakin Skywalker shit! Isaac attempting to clap Nathan BUT TAKING OUT WHATSHERFUCK INSTEAD!!!!!!!!!

And that was just ONE fucking episode! With a cameo by fucking STAN LEE! Come on, Willco - Stan Lee cameos ROCK, right?

oh! for some reason I thought you were anti-Heroes. It's really, really, REALLY fucking good. Plot lines actually CONNECT with the story, instead of just flailing in the wind when the writers want to do something else (I'm looking at you, 24)

I just won't watch it when it's in direct competition with the Jack Bauer Action Hour. I really like the corner the show is turning now, especially since his family is out of the way. The last three Heroes episodes have been better than the last three 24 episodes, I will say that.

I was a huge Bab5 fan from seasons 2 - 4 (1 didn't have Scarecrow, and 5 was just shite because JMS didn't know if he'd get the last season) because of the detailed story arc. I think Heroes is taking the multiple-season story arc in bold new directions, and I LOVE IT.
