Los Angeles (eCanadaNow) - The original line-up of Guns N’ Roses is set to reform.
Frontman Axl Rose - who continues to perform under the band’s name with new musicians - has buried the hatchet with original drummer Stevie Adler.
Adler says he has been talking to former members Slash, Izzy Stradlin and Duff McKagan about a possible reunion tour and new album.
Adler, who left the band in 1990, wrote on his official MySpace page: “I saw
Axl, talked with him from 10 or 12 at night to 8 in the morning. We resolved a lot of f***ing s**t! I said, ‘You know the five of us have to get back together!
That’s when it will really f***ing take off again! Nothing will be bigger. It would be the biggest reunion ever in history.’
“He just grinned and giggled a little bit. Everybody in his band came up to me and said, ‘You’re the greatest f***ing drummer! We’re always telling Axl you gotta get the band back together!’ That’s what they said to HIM!
“I’ve been talking with Slash. I’ve been talking with Izzy. They want a reunion.”
Rose recently invited ex-rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin to make guest appearances on the band’s tour.
Stradlin left the band after the ‘Use Your Illusion’ albums were released. He was replaced by Gilby Clarke.
The current incarnation of Guns N’ Roses are due to release their long-awaited new album ‘Chinese Democracy’ - a record that has been in the pipeline for almost a decade - next month.

I won't get my hopes up but damn this would be fuckin amazing. Although it would probably mean Chinese Democracy as it is now would never be released. Damn I want to hear that album so bad.

No, because there is always one factor that trumps ego when it comes to aging, broken up supergroups:

Notice how the drummer is the one talking about getting back together. Drummers usually don't get nearly as much royalties as more prominent members of the band (they don't get writing credits) lol. So of course he wants some monah

This would definitely be huge IF 1) the band didn't kill each other after 1 show 2) Axl stopped drinking and smoking so his vocals wouldn't be so uncertain (although the damage is prob already done) 3) actually release an album 4) Axl stops having hissy fits and stops shows midway through

I honestly don't think they'd last through an entire tour. Hopefully they'll do a couple shows, then go into the studio and record an album. After that, THEN start the big tour. So when it ends after a month or so we'll have a new album and a handful of good live preformances.
Axl is pretty crazy, on or off drugs. His voice is constantly off when he's live, and he doesn't hit the high notes as much. That being said, some of the stuff from Chinese Democracy sounds very steller
