I hate both of those fucks.
Handheld gaming is not comparable to console gaming. The GC was not a full generation more powerful than the PS2. Good God.

how so
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=5616286&postcount=855It shouldn't be compared but it is safe to say the Wii will probably continue to be #1 in USA. I say this as someone who adores his 360 but grew tired of his wii a while ago. :-\

eh, I'm not sure it will dominate. I expect it to do very well and wouldn't be surprised if it became #1. But it's going to need games that really take advantage of the Wii's unique capabilities.http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=5616286&postcount=855It shouldn't be compared but it is safe to say the Wii will probably continue to be #1 in USA. It's just a simple truth everyone has to accept.
Wii will dominate for awhile; the hype is refusing to die down. Games like Wii Play should help it to keep "non-gamers" interested, and then when the Wii Exercise game comes out BAM, megaton sales.Yep. I see 360 taking on the majority of the 18+ gamer crowd who plays madden and gta. Though unless something major happens it won't be enough to pull ahead of the wii, wii has insane hype never before seen in gaming since NES. Putting PS3 in a bad place, there is no room for it.
The 360 is going to sell well this next few months as people shift from the PS2 to the 360.

Not to mention 360 has more rpgs than ps3. lol ps3. Making japafags am cry globally. But you also have to remember, the Dreamcast was better than the PS2 in RPGs (since Dreamcast was out for over a year before PS2. It had RPGs like Grandia II, Skies of Arcadia, Shenmue (maybe not 100% RPG, but something), and PSO). It took the PS2 over a year to get going to have a good RPGs, and a few years to have several good RPGs. I think the same will happen with PS3 (eventually having a good selection of great RPGs), but it will be a few years (I don't feel it will ever top PS1 and PS2 in RPGs, but I don't think Wii or 360 will either. Nothing will IMO).
Yeah but unlike DC vs. PS2 the 360 is doing much better in the marketplace than PS3, PS3 is a failure so far. Especially in Japan where the rpg's come from. Not to mention 360 has more rpgs than ps3. lol ps3. To be honest, I think the Wii may end up getting the glut of the RPG library. Like honestly, are there any other RPGs announced for PS3 aside from FFXIII?
Many of the PS2 RPGs were pretty low-budget, niche titles - games like all the SMT spinoffs, the Gust games, Metal Saga, the NIS SRPGs etc. I am willing to bet, with the dominance of the Wii in Japan, many of these titles are gonna go to there - low development costs + large userbase - and it'll start a recursive loop - more RPGs on Wii -> greater Japanese sales -> even more RPGs -> DQ10 getting announced for the system with the highest userbase -> even MORE RPGs.
The upcoming 360 RPG library looks excellent, both Western and Eastern. A vast improvement over the original Xbox's, not to mention the Japanese support is much better. Unfortunately it looks like the hardcore RPG fans are gonna need to buy all 3 systems this time around for their fix. I just hope MS keeps on financing Mistwalker and encourages other Japanese companies to put some high-budget titles on there.
If you're calling the PS3 a failure in Japan, then you might as well call the 360 a failure, since its Japanese userbase is 1/2 of PS3. And many JRPGs outside of Final Fantasy and a few Square Enix franchises just don't sell in the U.S. I'll add too that Sony does have internal studios and independent third parties they work with, to produce RPGs (like Wild Arms, a Level 5 RPG, etc.), so PS3 will be having JRPGs. Sony may not have published many of their own on PS2 (compared to PS3), but I actually see that rising. There are over 100 first party PS3 games in development, so we'll see what comes up.

White Knights or whatever for the PS3 looks fap worthyIt does but too bad it won't sell well with like 3 PS3 owners in total in Japan.

Wow. Gaf sucks. 'ISN'T THAT SUPPOSED TO BE ON THE plutoed LIST." Jesus, make your gaping assholish biases even MORE OBVIOUS why don'tcha? They don't want to hear the truth about PS3. Look at the NPD thread. They are all like WOO RESISTANCE <3 when it is being destroyed by fucking wario ware.
Wario Ware owns though. It does but Resistance is THE killer app for PS3. When a filler title with little advertising or press crushes it there is something wrong in Sony land.

No one cares about Resistance. It's like PD0, but obviously a better game: something that comes out at launch and just can't create the buzz or interest as a Halo.Wario Ware owns though. It does but Resistance is THE killer app for PS3. But unlike 360 there is no killer app out around now in the vein of Oblivion or GRAW to really get the masses buying games. And don't say VF5. A niche game on a system with a pitfull installed base AAAND a port to 360 announced before it even releases will take a miracle to break the top 10 next month.

True. Feb is going to be ugly for the PS3.
But a lot of big games come out in March - it'll be interesting to see how the PS3 does with good software on the shelf.
I also see a problem in that I can't picture Sony fanboys being as devoted as Nintendo ones were during the hard times. I think the Sony's will be more apt to jump ship.
EDIT: Lost Planet sales seal the deal for me. DMC 4 will be on 360. Capcom's base IS 360 now. There is no doubt about it.
hmmmm...Willco locks topics about sales though lol
It looks like evilbore doesn't have a gaming forum so people have to talk about videogames in the GAF thread.
Willco get on it!
Willco create a sales forum. I want to talk about Kleenex vs. Scott.hmmmm...Willco locks topics about sales though lol

The thing is the PS2 consumer base did not buy it for sony first party titles, DMC, or MGS. Those are hardcore sony gamer games and they sell very well to that base. But so did Zelda and Mario to the Nintendo base on GCN. The PS2 consumers were interested in madden, gta, and other games similar to that. 360 seems to have that base covered much better
PS3 seems to be, at least for the next year based on it's lineup of exclusives to be for hardcore Sony fans only. Much like GCN was for with Nintendo. And that is NOT a place a company wants to be.
vf4 was on saturn?

VF isn't niche. VF4 sold enough to get a greatest hit and back in the day, it was the sole reason I wanted a Saturn. That's definitely not niche.
Sure you did.
THE LAWD SAYS YEW MUST STOP BEATIN OFF IN THE SHITTER OF HIS HOUSE AS PENANCE FOR THIS OFFENSE!
TO HELL WITH SALES-AGE

Wrong again. Where does Cheebs get this stuff?
DMC1 sold 4 million world wide. By the time DMC3 came out it sold a good 1 million worldwide I think..don't remember. But the reason for the decline in sales was DMC2, which was shit tastic. Despite being universally praised, DMC3 did much WORSE than it's predecessors.
MGS is still highly touted, but it, like DMC, lost a lot of fanbase because of it's second sequel. Definitely not a BAD game, but disappointing to a lot of folks, especially considering MGS2 is maybe the most hyped game of all time. MGS3 suffered because of it, despite being called "better than MGS1".
Well this thread sure died a quick death :lolWe burned through this months NPD charts. What is left to talk about till next month?
I can't believe it says I made this thread :-\:)
Lol. I like how no one bothered to post in the thread anymore after it was separated. 8)Everyone was done with that months sales charts. It will get a good deal of posts next month, this isn't gaf I dont think anyone cares about Media Create or whatever that thing is called.
